Guthrie (back) was cleared Sunday and is tentatively scheduled to pitch Tuesday, Stefan Stevenson of the Wort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
EDGE Analysis
Guthrie had been previously reported to be lined up for a return Monday, but given that it's only spring training, the simply takeaway is that he's about to return to the mound.

Guthrie (back) will pitch in a spring training game Monday, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
EDGE Analysis
Guthrie was scratched from pitching in a game Thursday due to tightness in his back, but he should be back in action soon enough. Any more setbacks would be rough for the 36-year-old, as making the 25-man roster will be difficult enough given his 5.95 ERA in 2015.

Guthrie is a scratch from pitching against the Royals on Thursday due to a lower back injury, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The seriousness of his injury is not known at the moment, but he will have to remain healthy and pitch well throughout spring training if he wants to make the Rangers' Opening Day roster. The 36-year-old is coming off a dreadful 2015 that saw him post a 5.95 ERA in 148.3 innings pitched.

Guthrie agreed to a minor league contract with the Rangers on Saturday, TR Sullivan of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
He was clobbered to the tune of a 5.95 ERA and 1.55 WHIP last season, making the Royals' decision to decline Guthrie's option for 2016 an easy one. The right-hander will now head to Texas to provide depth to a rotation with health question marks in Yu Darvish (elbow) and Colby Lewis (knee), but Guthrie's recent track record should keep him out of consideration in standard mixed-leagues formats.

Guthrie's 2016 club option was declined, Andy McCullough of The Kansas City Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
Guthrie had a brutal 2015 campaign, recording a 5.95 ERA and 1.55 WHIP in 148.1 innings. Even with expected changes in the Royals starting rotation next season, the 36-year-old will likely not return to the club after spending three years with the organization. He should get another opportunity elsewhere, but he's unlikely to generate much fantasy interest in redraft leagues next season.

Guthrie gave up nine runs (eight earned) on nine hits and zero walks while striking out two over 2.1 innings Tuesday against the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
Despite his general ineffectiveness and Tuesday's disastrous outing, Guthrie will stick in the rotation through the end of the season as the Royals look to get Danny Duffy acclimated to the bullpen role he will hold during the postseason. Guthrie's next start comes Sunday at home against the Indians.

Guthrie will start Tuesday's game against Seattle, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Guthrie will rejoin the rotation over the final weeks of the regular season, taking the spot vacated by the struggling Danny Duffy. If the current rotation remains intact, Guthrie is on pace to make three starts before the postseason.

Guthrie will be moved back into the starting rotation, Andy McCullough of the KC Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Royals moved Guthrie to the bullpen last month after a string of sub-par starts, but with Danny Duffy struggling of late, Guthrie will re-enter the rotation for the final few weeks of the regular season. It's unclear exactly when Guthrie will make his next start, though it will likely be Tuesday when the Royals host the Mariners. Guthrie has not been overly effective out of the pen over the last month, allowing six earned runs on eight hits over 11.1 combined innings of long relief.

Kansas City Royals pitcher Jeremy Guthrie, who has a 5.65 ERA this season, could lose his spot in the rotation after failing to make it out of the fifth inning Wednesday, according to the Kansas City Star. Manager Ned Yost refused to provide an answer when asked whether Guthrie would remain in the rotation following another lackluster start Wednesday.

Guthrie (7-5) allowed four runs -- three earned -- on eight hits and four walks while striking out three in six plus innings against the Rays on Wednesday. Guthrie walked four on Wednesday, the most he's allowed since April 22 when he walked six against the Twins. However, he also had his third straight quality start, two of which were wins. He'll head into the All-Star break with a 7-5 record, a 5.36 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 50:28 K:BB ratio in 95.2 innings.
