Bruce (elbow) will serve as the designated hitter in Friday's spring game against the Tigers, according to Todd Zolecki of MLB.com.
EDGE Analysis
Bruce still has not played a defensive position in a game this spring, but he will DH on Friday for the fifth time. While he has been brought along slowly after dealing with a flexor injury for the last couple months of last season, he should still be ready to go -- at least to hit -- when Opening Day rolls around.

Bruce (elbow) is close to fully healthy but is still on a restricted throwing program after injuring his flexor tendon last summer, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bruce has been able to throw from up to 150 feet, so it doesn't sound as though he's heavily restricted. He's been able to hit in Grapefruit league games, going 2-for-7 with a pair of doubles so far. Assuming he's cleared to play outfield by Opening Day, he lines up to fill an expanded role early in the season with Andrew McCutchen (knee) expected to open the year on the injured list. Bruce likely will fill the large side of a platoon in left field until McCutchen returns.

Bruce (elbow) is only available to hit in an emergency Saturday, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bruce returned from a flexor strain at the start of September but hasn't been able to take the field all month. He's been quite poor at the plate, going 2-for-25, though both of hits did at least clear the fence. He's probably played his last game of the season, giving him a lopsided .216/.261/.523 season slash line and 26 homers in just 333 plate appearances.

Bruce went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Saturday against the Indians.
EDGE Analysis
Bruce took James Hoyt deep in the fifth inning to record his 26th home run of the season. However, he has struggled to find playing time since returning from injury early in September, and has drawn starts in the team's last two games only due to the addition of a designated hitter.

Bruce (arm) will serve as the Phillies' designated hitter in Friday's game against the Indians.
EDGE Analysis
Bruce's arm injury has prevented him from starting any games since Aug. 8, but with Friday's game coming in Cleveland and a designated hitter spot available, manager Gabe Kapler decided to get him in the lineup. Bruce will hit out of the cleanup spot against Indians starter Shane Bieber.

Bruce (arm) is not in Thursday's lineup against the Braves, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's been over a month since Bruce was in the starting lineup as he has been dealing with a flexor strain. He is 1-for-11 with a home run in 11 pinch-hit opportunities over that span.

Bruce (arm) has resumed playing catch, Meghan Montemurro of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bruce returned from a flexor strain at the start of September, but to this point he'd only been cleared to hit and not throw, so he's been limited to pinch-hit duty. He should have a chance to return to the starting lineup soon now that he's resumed throwing.

The Phillies reinstated Bruce (arm) from the 10-day injured list Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Bruce last appeared for the Phillies on Aug. 8 before landing on the IL with a flexor strain in his left arm. The veteran was able to complete two rehab games at Double-A Reading over the weekend prior to being reinstated, going hitless in eight at-bats. Though Bruce had occupied a strong-side platoon role prior to being shut down, he may have to settle for more limited at-bats with the hot-hitting Corey Dickerson seemingly establishing himself as the Phillies' preferred option in left field.

Bruce (arm) will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Reading on Friday, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bruce has been out since early August with a flexor strain. He's expected to appear in just two rehab games before rejoining the Phillies on Saturday. He's still only been cleared to hit and not to throw, though, so he'll be just a bat off the bench when he first returns.

Bruce was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday due to a flexor strain in his left arm, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bruce reportedly suffered the injury on a throw in the third inning of Thursday's matchup, so the Phillies will place him right back on the shelf just one day after he'd returned from an oblique strain. He's not expected to throw for the next two weeks, per Meghan Montemurro of The Athletic. Adam Haseley was recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley in a corresponding move.
