Davis (quadriceps) was activated from the DL on Friday and will get the start at first base while hitting sixth against the Angels. Davis has been out for more than a month with the quad injury, but now that he is healthy he should start to see somewhat regular starts at first base for the A's. Mark Canha and Stephen Vogt will also probably remain in the mix occasionally starting at first base, but Davis should play enough to be useful in mid-to-deeper sized leagues.

Davis (quad) could be activated as early as Friday, John Hickey of the Bay Area News Group reports. Davis has been rehabbing at Triple-A Nashville, where he played Wednesday night. The A's have not yet made an official decision on when he'll join the team, but it sounds like there's a decent chance he could be recalled efore Friday's game against the Angels.

Davis (quadriceps) will play another game at Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday before going to Oakland where the Athletics will decide whether or not to activate him, Joe Stiglich of CSN California reports. Wednesday was the early target date for Davis' return to the Athletics, but owners will have to wait at least another day for his activation from the disabled list. The decision on Davis' possible activation should come down before the end of the weekend.

Davis (quadriceps) will not be activated from the DL on Wednesday. Wednesday seemed to be the tentative target date for Davis, but it seems the A's decided he could use a rest day after playing in back-to-back rehab games with Triple-A Nashville to start the week. The 28-year-old has played in four rehab games overall, going 4-for-16 with a double, three RBI and four strikeouts, after missing a month due to a Grade 2 quad strain. Davis figures to supplant Mark Canha as the primary option at first base upon activation.

Davis (quadriceps) is expected to come off the disabled list Wednesday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Davis began a rehab assignment at Triple-A Nashville on Friday and has batted 2-for-7 with a double over his first two games. He'll likely stay in the field for another game or two before the Athletics bring him back aboard to assume regular duties at first base. Mark Canha and Max Muncy have seen the majority of duties at the position while Davis has been out.

Davis (quadriceps) will start his rehab assignment with Triple-A Nashville this weekend, the Bay Area News Group's John Hickey reports. His baserunning went well Wednesday and he will begin the rehab assignment either Friday or Saturday. This will put him on track to return to the A's in the next week or two.

Davis (quadriceps) will run the bases in the next couple of days and would likely begin a rehab assignment this weekend if there are no setbacks, Joe Stiglich of CSN California reports. The Athletics have been cautious with Davis since he landed on the DL, but he's nearing a return to game action as long as everything goes well during his base running workout. There will be a further update on the details of Davis' possible rehab assignment in the coming days.

Manager Bob Melvin said Sunday that Davis (quadriceps) could be ready to begin a rehab assignment in about a week, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. The Athletics aren't likely to clear Davis to begin any assignment until after the team returns next Tuesday from its road trip. Davis, who was placed on the 15-day DL on May 17, will likely need to play at least a full game or two in the minors before the team activates him.

Davis (quadriceps) will take batting practice on the field on Thursday, Joe Stiglich of Comcast SportsNet California reports. This will be the first baseball activity Davis takes part in since being placed on the DL with a Grade 2 quad strain. Seeing as though it has already been 10 days since the injury, it's very possible Davis will remain out past 15 days, and Max Muncy and Mark Canha should see increased playing opportunities so long as Davis is inactive.

Davis (quad) is still not doing baseball activities and could miss about a month in total, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Davis hit the DL last Sunday with a Grade 2 quad strain, and he's apparently not making significant progress. As such, he'll likely remain on the DL past the minimum 15 games, so Max Muncy and Mark Canha should continue to see increased playing time opportunities.
