Bailey (8-7) yielded nine runs on eight hits and three walks in two innings Monday, striking out two and taking the loss to Houston.
EDGE Analysis
After earning a win in his Oakland debut, Bailey completely unraveled against Houston's lethal offense. He coughed up four runs in the second inning, including a solo homer from Yordan Alvarez. He then allowed a two-run shot and three-run homer in the third frame without recording an out, sending him to the locker room early. His ERA ballooned up to 5.42 after the rough night. Bailey will get a slightly easier matchup at home Saturday against Texas.

Bailey (8-6) allowed two earned runs on seven hits and no walks while striking out six across six innings to earn the win Wednesday against the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
Bailey turned in a strong start in his Athletics debut, allowing no home runs while also surrendering no free passes. His only real trouble came in the second inning when he allowed both of his earned runs, though he conceded only two hits in his remaining four innings of work. Bailey generated 24 combined swinging and called strikes, a strong tally for 87 total pitches. He'll look to build on this strong debut in his next start, currently scheduled for Tuesday at Houston.

Bailey is scheduled to make his Athletics debut Wednesday against the Mariners in Oakland, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Since Bailey has yet to pitch in the second half, he'll be sufficiently rested and shouldn't face any restrictions while stepping in as Oakland's new fifth starter during the upcoming week. Prior to getting shipped out of Kansas City on Sunday, Bailey was at least an acceptable innings eating for the Royals, netting a 4.80 ERA (4.62 xFIP) and 11.0 K-BB% across 18 starts. Bailey should have some staying power in an Oakland rotation that has been churning the Nos. 4 and 5 spots for a good portion of the campaign.

The Athletics acquired Bailey from the Royals on Sunday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Royals' return in the deal isn't known, but Oakland likely isn't sending back anything substantial while it pays the approximately $250,000 in salary Bailey is owed for the remainder of 2019. News of the trade surfaced shortly after Bailey was a surprise scratch ahead of his scheduled start for Kansas City in Sunday's game against the Tigers. The Athletics have yet to name a fifth starter coming out of the All-Star break, so Bailey could be plugged into the rotation right away and debut for the club Tuesday against Seattle. Over 18 starts this season spanning 90 innings, Bailey has posted a 4.80 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 81:38 K:BB.

Bailey was a late scratch ahead of his scheduled start Sunday against the Tigers due to an undisclosed reason, Lynn Worthy of The Kansas City Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Royals announced Bailey's scratch just over a half hour before game time. Expect the team to provide further clarity on the rationale behind the decision later Sunday. Long reliever Brian Flynn will start in Bailey's stead in what likely amounts to a bullpen game for Kansas City.

Bailey allowed two runs on six hits with two walks and three strikeouts over five innings of work against the Indians on Thursday. He did not record a decision.
EDGE Analysis
Bailey's chance at earning his eighth win of the season was spoiled after the Royals' bullpen surrendered six runs in the seventh inning to blow a 3-2 lead. Still, the right-hander has been in a bit of a groove lately, posting a 2.38 ERA over his last six starts while notching three wins in that span. Bailey has been the only bright spot for the Royals' pitching staff recently as Danny Duffy, Brad Keller and Jakob Junis all have an ERA of 4.54 or higher over the past 30 days. In his 18 outings this season, Bailey has only managed to record six quality starts with an 81:38 K:BB in 90 innings. Without being able to generate many strikeouts or efficient starts, the veteran righty will need to rely on plenty of run support to maintain fantasy value.

Bailey allowed five runs on five hits and four walks across five innings during Saturday's 7-5 loss at Toronto. He struck out six and did not factor in the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Bailey gave up only four runs over his previous four starts, but a grand slam from Cavan Biggio flipped the script on the veteran Saturday. Bailey struggled with his control all afternoon, delivering only 58 of his 103 pitches for strikes. It still proved to be a solid June for the 33-year-old with a 3.48 ERA and 1.28 WHIP, and he'll look to rediscover that form Thursday against the Indians.

Bailey (7-6) gave up one run on five hits and one walk while striking out five through 5.1 innings to take the win over the Twins on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Bailey had his scoreless-inning streak end at 16.2 innings in the fourth inning, but that was all he would surrender as he won his third consecutive start. The right-hander has a 0.71 ERA in his last 25 innings and continues to own the AL Central with a 4-0 record and a 2.26 ERA against the division. Bailey will look to keep it going in his next start Saturday against the Blue Jays at the Rogers Centre.

Bailey (5-6) earned the win Thursday by holding the Tigers scoreless over six innings. He allowed two hits and three walks while striking out six.
EDGE Analysis
Bailey turned in one of his best performances of the season, holding his opponent scoreless for just the second time to pick up his first win since May 10. The 33-year-old threw 102 pitches, 70 for strikes. Despite the successful outing, Bailey still has much room for improvement with a 5.37 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 61:29 K:BB. Next, he'll gear up for a Thursday showdown against Seattle.

Bailey took a no decision in Friday's win after holding the White Sox to three runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out three through six innings of work.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander displayed solid control in getting the ball over the plate to record his longest outing since May 4. Bailey gave up a two-out, two-run double to James McCann in the third but bounced back by retiring 10 of the next 11 batters. The 33-year-old actually pitched into the seventh inning but got pulled after giving up a leadoff double to Tim Anderson. Bailey will carry a 5.90 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 55:26 K:BB into a Thursday matchup against Detroit.
