Gattis was back in the starting lineup as designated hitter and went 1-for-3 in Friday's loss to the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Gattis got the lone hit allowed by Texas pitchers and extended his hitting streak to three games. He entered the game on a 2-for-22 slide, which reached 23 at-bats before his seeing-eye single in the fifth inning, and has just three RBI since April 12. Manager A.J. Hinch told Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle that Gattis has missed some pitches he normally hammers. Hinch acknowledged in Oakland earlier this week that he'll spreading the DH at-bats in light of Gattis' lack of production. The 31-year-old is hitting .196/.264/.278 after Friday's game.

Gattis is not in the lineup versus the Athletics on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Gattis will take a seat for the series finale after going 2-for-8 during the first two games in Oakland. In his place, George Springer will serve as the club's designated hitter while Derek Fisher and Jake Marisnick each receive starts in the outfield.

Gattis started for the first time in six games and went 1-for-5 in Monday's 16-2 win over the Athletics.
EDGE Analysis
Part of Gattis' absence from the starting lineup was due to Houston playing in a National League city over the weekend, but the designated hitter/catcher has earned his downtime, batting just .187 for the season. Manager A.J. Hinch told Hunter Atkins of the Houston Chronicle that for Gattis to continue to get consistent at-bats at DH, there needs to be more production. As such, the manager has started to spread out DH opportunities among others, which takes playing time away from Gattis.

Gattis is out of the lineup Sunday against the Diamondbacks, Jody Jackson of FOX Sports Arizona reports.
EDGE Analysis
With no designated hitter available in Arizona, Gattis has unsurprisingly been on the bench for all three games of the interleague series. The Astros will resume American League play Monday in Oakland, but there's no guarantee Gattis will be back in the lineup with manager A.J. Hinch having taken a committee approach to the DH spot of late. With Gattis' OPS having fallen more than 200 points from his 2017 mark, he'll likely be merely a part-time player for Houston until he rediscovers his power stroke and cuts down on his strikeouts.

Gattis is not in the lineup Friday against the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
With the Astros playing in a National League park Friday, there's no designated hitter spot, so Gattis will head to the bench for another night off. This is the second consecutive game in which he's not starting. He still poses some value as a powerful bat off the bench to limit the amount of times Houston's pitchers have to hit, though.

Gattis is out of the lineup against the Yankees on Thursday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gattis will remain on the bench for the second straight game while Yulieski Gurriel gets a start as the club's DH for the series finale. Over 26 games this season, Gattis is slashing .193/.272/.289 with one home run and eight RBI.

Gattis is not in the lineup against the Yankees on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Gattis will get the day off after going 0-for-6 with three strikeouts over the past two games. George Springer is set to DH while Derek Fisher draws a start in center field.

Gattis batted ninth in the order and went 0-for-3 in Monday's 2-1 win over the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
Gattis hitting between the fifth and seventh spots, but has been dropped to the lower third lately. That's what a .200 batting average, a .581 OPS and 28.1 K% will do to a hitter. He remains the team's primary designated hitter, but at this rate, that role may not last too much longer. Working in his favor, though, is that several Astros are underwhelming with the bat -- Marwin Gonzalez, Jake Marisnick and Derek Fisher -- so there isn't an obvious replacement for Gattis.

Gattis is out of the lineup Sunday against the Athletics.
EDGE Analysis
Gattis will be on the bench for the fourth time in five games, making it apparent he's no longer locked into a near-everyday role for the Astros in light of his miserable start to the campaign. Rather than deploying another player on the roster purely as a primary designated hitter, the Astros have simply been rotating a number of everyday position players into the spot to afford them a day of rest from the field. Jose Altuve will receive a turn as the club's DH on Sunday.

Gattis is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Athletics.
EDGE Analysis
Gattis returns to the bench Saturday for the third time in the last four contests, in part due to his .211/.294/.316 line in 85 plate appearances on the season. Marwin Gonzalez gets the start at first base with Yulieski Gurriel serving as designated hitter Saturday.
