Eric Stults pitched his second career complete game in the Padres' 2-1 victory over the Rockies on Thursday. Stults notched his first complete game in his 52nd career start on June 14. The second comes just five outings later. He threw 122 pitches and allowed just four hits in this one. Stults had struggled in consecutive starts coming into the night, but both of them were on the road. The win at Petco moves him to 4-1 with a 2.56 ERA at home this year. He's 3-6 with a 4.31 ERA on the road.

Eric Stults surrendered four runs and nine hits in 4 1/3 innings Thursday in a loss to the Red Sox. Stults has struggled in back-to-back outings, taking his ERA from 3.20 to 3.70. Of course, mixed leaguers shouldn't have been using him today anyway, not with him pitching at Fenway Park. He's 3-1 with a 2.85 ERA at Petco this year, compared to 3-6 with a 4.31 ERA elsewhere.

Eric Stults allowed six runs -- five earned -- over 3 2/3 innings Saturday in the Padres' loss to the Marlins. Stults had been on a roll for a month-plus, but it all fell apart for him on Saturday night against an unimposing Marlins lineup. He yielded seven hits and issued two walks, and was lifted after throwing only 75 pitches. The right-hander will face the Red Sox in Boston next.

Eric Stults hurled seven innings of two-run ball in a no-decision Monday against the Phillies. Stults was on the hook for a loss before San Diego rallied in the ninth inning. He gave up seven hits and no walks, striking out four. Since going 2-2 with a 5.67 ERA in April, Stults has been nothing less than one of the league's best starters. He posted a 2.66 ERA in May and has allowed two runs or less in all five of his June starts. The southpaw doesn't have much in the way of raw stuff, but he's worth trotting out in mixed leagues until the clock strikes midnight, whenever that might be.

Eric Stults pitched a two-hitter for his third career complete game as the Padres edged the Diamondbacks 2-1 on Friday. Gerardo Parra double to start the top of the first and came around to score on a sac fly. After that, Stults gave up just one more hit the rest of the way and recorded his first complete game since a shutout in 2009. In his last four starts, Stults has given up five earned runs and just one walk in 31 innings. He's certainly not this good, but he's a decent play in mixed leagues with the Giants, Phillies and Marlins next on the schedule.

Eric Stults pitched well against his former team Monday despite taking a loss, yielding just two runs over seven frames against the Dodgers. Stults allowed six hits, didn't walk anyone and struck out three, but he was undone by a pair of longballs, as Adrian Gonzalez and Scott Van Slyke both got to him. The southpaw has underwhelming stuff but continues to give the Padres solid work, putting up a 3.74 ERA and 1.17 WHIP. Fantasy owners should avoid him at Coors this weekend.

Eric Stults struck out a career-high 12 while pitching eight innings of one-run ball against the Mariners on Wednesday. The 12 strikeouts was so out of character for Stults that you have to go back to 2007 to find the last time he amassed that many between any two consecutive starts. He fanned seven batters in his first start of this year, but his next high total was five and he struck out just two in 6 1/3 innings last time out. In other words, don't expect much more of this from Stults. He's just a spot starter in NL-only leagues.

Eric Stults held the Nationals to one run over eight innings to pick up a win Saturday and move to 4-3 on the season. Stults has been great over his last four starts, lowering his ERA from 5.67 to 4.05. On Saturday, he struck out five, walked two and scattered four hits. Stults gets the Diamondbacks on Friday night.

Eric Stults held the Marlins to one run in 6 1/3 innings to pick up a win Tuesday and move to 3-2 on the season. Stults, also effective against the Cubs last time out, has taken advantage of an easy schedule to lower his ERA from 5.67 to 4.50 in his last two starts. He's playable in NL-only leagues when the Padres are at home, but that's about all he'll be useful for.

Eric Stults lasted only four innings and gave up five runs Saturday in a no-decision against the Giants. Stults was handed a rotation spot this spring based on his strong showing in 14 starts last year, but he's more of a middle reliever/swingman on a contending team. The Padres aren't likely to replace him right away, but one more bad outing could do it.
