O'Flaherty (shoulder) will throw a bullpen session by the end of the week, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. The A's were planning to shut O'Flaherty down until the pain in his shoulder went away, so it appears he is feeling better now. It's not clear when he will be ready to join the big club, but he iis eligible to be activated from the big club at any point.

O'Flaherty (shoulder) underwent an MRI on Sunday, which revealed no structural damage. The Athletics will shut him down from throwing until O'Flaherty reports no pain in his shoulder, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. O'Flaherty landed on the 15-day disabled list Saturday with a shoulder strain. Although the MRI revealed no structural damage, there are signs of inflammation in the shoulder joint. While it's a good sign that there's no serious damage, shoulder injuries in pitchers tend to be treated with extra caution.

O'Flaherty will undergo an MRI on his left shoulder Sunday, John Hickey of the Bay Area News Group reports. O'Flaherty was placed on the disabled list Sunday with a shoulder strain, and it appears the team would like to get a closer look at the ailment. Look for a more concrete diagnosis to surface Monday.

O'Flaherty has a left shoulder strain and was placed on the 15-day DL Saturday, MLB.com's Jane Lee reports. He had been pretty brutal so far out of Oakland's bullpen, and perhaps the shoulder issue was one of the contributing factors to his struggles. He should be considered out indefinitely.

O'Flaherty was terrible yet again on Friday night, taking the loss while allowing three earned runs over 0.1 innings. O'Flaherty has now been really bad in back-to-back outings and has given up multiple runs in three of his last five appearances. His ERA is now up to 11.37 on the year and it is very possible the A's could use him in some low leverage situations to try and get him back on track.

O'Flaherty struggled on Sunday, taking the loss while allowing two runs in 0.2 innings. O'Flaherty entered the game with a 2-1 lead and by the time the inning was over, the A's were trailing 4-2. This is the second time in his last four outings that O'Flaherty has allowed multiple runs. O'Flaherty's history of success should keep him in his role for the time being, but it would not be surprising for Bob Melvin to go to Fernando Abad next time he needs a set-up lefty in the eighth.

O'Flaherty had an excellent outing on Tuesday, striking out three over 1.2 innings. O'Flaherty entered the game with one out and two on and immediately got a double play to end the inning and preserve Kendall Graveman's shutout. O'Flaherty bounced back nicely after allowing a three-run homer in his last outing and is currently the top lefty setup man out of the pen for the A's.

O'Flaherty struggled on Sunday, allowing three runs on a Rickie Weeks homer in one inning. This was likely just a blip on the radar for O'Flaherty who has a history of strong ratios out of the bullpen. He will continue to be the primary lefty setup man in the A's pen.

O'Flaherty was mention by manager Bob Melvin as one of the guys in the closer mix with Sean Doolittle likely opening the season on the DL, reports Jane Lee of MLB.com. O'Flaherty was briefly put in the closer role in August when Doolittle missed a few weeks. O'Flaherty has put together five consecutive seasons with an ERA of 2.50 or under, but has only thrown 38 combined innings the last two seasons due to 2013 Tommy John Surgery. O'Flaherty did not have much of a platoon split in his limited 2014 innings (including an impressive career .186 batting average against to righties), but he has been much more effective in his career agaisnt lefties (.531 OPS against lefties and .714 OPS agaisnt righties) and is probably an underdog for saves to Tyler Clippard entering the spring.

O'Flaherty (elbow) was left off the A's Wild Card roster, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. O'Flaherty handled ninth-inning duties for a short period in the second half when Sean Doolittle was out with an oblique injury, but he missed the final eight days of the regular season with soreness in his surgically-repaired left elbow. Soreness is by no means uncommon in the year-plus following Tommy John surgery, but it's uncertain whether O'Flaherty will be available should the team advance to the ALDS.
