Ortiz went 3-for-3 with a sacrifice fly, double, two RBI, two runs and a walk in Saturday's 11-9 loss to the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran slugger was consistently on the basepaths, and put together his second three-hit day in the last three games. Ortiz also posted his third multi-RBI game over his last five contests, and is slashing .317/.392/.667 over 63 at-bats in July.

Ortiz went 3-for-5 with a homer and four RBI against the Twins on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Apparently, this guy is 40 years old and about to retire, not a 27-year-old superstar in his prime. You wouldn't know it from the stat line, as Ortiz is carrying a 1.096 OPS -- the highest mark of his career. Every year, he comes too cheap in fantasy drafts, and every year, he pays off the owners who dish out the extra buck to acquire him. Maybe he shouldn't retire so soon.

Ortiz went 1-for-3 with a three-run homer in Tuesday's win over the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
Ortiz had entered the game without an extra-base hit in 10 career at-bats against his former teammate Jake Peavy, but his fourth-inning blast ended that and secured the 4-0 victory. Ortiz's 23rd homer of the season, and 526th of his career, sailed well over the right-field bullpen and several rows deep into the stands, and gave hime 75 RBI on the year. He's on pact to launch 40-plus home runs and 130-plus RBI, a feat Ortiz hasn't accomplished since 2006.

Ortiz went 1-for-4 with a solo homer in Friday's 6-5 victory over the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
The ageless slugger took Chris Archer deep in the fourth inning for his second homer in as many nights and third overall in July. Ortiz also has a five-game hitting streak, and has already collected seven RBI over 27 at-bats in the new month.

Ortiz went 1-for-3 with a homer, a walk and three RBI Wednesday against the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Ortiz left the yard for the 20th time this year to move the Red Sox out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning of a game they'd go on to win. He's now hit safely in seven of his last eight games, and he's slashing .337/.429/.677 on the year.

Ortiz went 3-for-4 with a solo homer in Friday's 5-4 victory over the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
The prolific slugger recorded the 2,000 hit with the Red Sox and moved into sole possession of 19th place on the all-time home run list with his fifth-inning solo blast, his first since June 17. Ortiz's banner final season continues, and he only seems to be getting better as it unfolds. He's raised his average another seven points to .342 over the last six games, a span in which hit safely in five of those contests, with multi-hit efforts in two of the last three.

Ortiz is out of the lineup Sunday against the Rangers, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ortiz isn't dealing with an injury, but at the request of team trainers, he'll hold himself out as the Red Sox play an afternoon game in the Texas heat. Bryce Brentz will cover the DH spot Sunday, but look for Ortiz to be back in the lineup Monday against the Rays.

Ortiz is not in Tuesday's lineup against the White Sox, Evan Drellich of the Boston Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ortiz continues to swing a hot bat, as he's riding a seven-game hitting streak -- with a pair of home runs in that span -- that's brought his monthly batting average to .350. He'll get a day off Tuesday against tough lefty Chris Sale, while Hanley Ramirez will fill in as the club's DH in his place.

Ortiz went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer and a walk in Friday's 8-4 loss to the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
The prolific slugger once again accounted for half of the Red Sox's run total, as he had on Thursday versus the Orioles. Win or lose, Ortiz continues to excel on virtually a nightly basis, and is now slashing .344/.424/.723 on the season. He's posted four homers and 12 RBI in his first 48 at-bats of June, and is second to only Edwin Encarnacion in the majors with 59 RBI on the season.

Fri 6/17/16 3:00 AM

Ortiz accounted for half of the Red Sox's hits and all their run production with a double and a solo homer in four at-bats Thursday in a loss against the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
While he's still been racking up plenty of hits to keep him in the race for the AL batting title, Ortiz hadn't homered in two full weeks, dating back to June 2. He tends to hit 'em in streaks, so don't be surprised if this is the start of a power binge for the 40-year-old DH.
