Barney did not start Tuesday's game due to hamstring tightness, Associated Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Barney has been a mainstay on the team's injury-plagued infield for most of the season, and Tuesday's news was a surprising side note in the post-game report. The issue must not be too serious, though, considering Barney entered the game in the eighth inning and played third base. Owners should keep an eye on the situation, but for now it appears the 31-year-old is safe to deploy.

Barney is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Brewers.
EDGE Analysis
Barney has been a mainstay at the hot corner since Josh Donaldson (calf) landed on the disabled list, but he'll head to the bench after collecting just two hits over his past seven games. Jose Bautista will move to the infield to fill in for him, while Chris Coghlan enters the lineup to fill the void in the outfield.

Barney is not in the lineup Monday against the Braves, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
Barney saw an uptick in playing time after Josh Donaldson (calf) got injured, and he found some success in that new role, as he currently holds a career-high .288 batting average on the season. However, the 31-year-old will head to the bench for a night off after two straight 0-for-4 showings. Chris Coghlan will man the hot corner in his place.

Barney will bat second in the order and man third base Sunday against the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
Ezequiel Carrera has served as the Blue Jays' No. 2 hitter in recent games, but his absence from the lineup Sunday will allow Barney to claim those duties. Despite Barney's move up in the lineup, it's hard to get excited about his DFS prospects since he's managed just one homer and one stolen base across 80 plate appearances this season.

Barney will start at third base and bat eighth in the order Wednesday against the Indians, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
After Chris Coghlan was added to the major-league roster April 14 following Josh Donaldson's (calf) placement on the disabled list, it looked as though Barney could be at risk of falling into the short end of a platoon at third base. That hasn't materialized, as Barney will draw a start at the position for the fourth straight game, despite the fact the Blue Jays have faced right-handed pitchers in all of those contests. Barney is batting a credible .297 over 67 plate appearances this season, but his dearth of power and speed and presence low in the order in what's been an anemic lineup renders him little more than a one-category play.

Barney went 1-for-3 with two RBI and a run in Wednesday's 3-0 victory against Boston.
EDGE Analysis
Barney's second-inning effort -- one in which he hit a two-run single before coming around to score -- accounted for all the game's offense. Wednesday's influential performance doubled the third baseman's RBI total (four) on the season, and raised his average to .389 through nine games. Barney's hit safely in five of his six starts this season and managed five base knocks over his last 12 at-bats. If the 31-year-old can keep it rolling, he may solidify himself as the routine replacement for Josh Donaldson (calf) while the latter is sidelined over the next few weeks.

Barney is out of the lineup Sunday against the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
Barney initially looked primed to take over as the Blue Jays' primary third baseman when Josh Donaldson (calf) was placed on the 10-day disabled list, but it appears he'll instead have to settle for the shorter end of a platoon with the lefty-hitting Chris Coghlan, who was promoted from Triple-A Buffalo on Friday. Coghlan will man third base for the second game in a row, relegating Barney to a bench role.

Barney started at third base for the second straight game and went 1-for-2 in Thursday's loss to the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
The bigger news here is that starting third baseman Josh Donaldson, who was filling the DH role Thursday, exited the game early after pulling up lame while running the bases. Donaldson continues to deal with a right calf issue that has already cost him time this season. That said, it might be time for the Jays to shut down Donaldson for a bit, which would benefit Barney. The latter did a fine job filling in for a slew of injured infielders last year, including 32 games in which Barney took over third from Donaldson. With multiple positional eligibility and a major bump in playing time possibly coming his way, Barney's stock would boom if Donaldson does in fact need time off.

Barney went 2-for-2 with a walk and scored a run in Thursday's victory over Tampa Bay.
EDGE Analysis
Starting in place of Devon Travis (rest) at second base, Barney made the most of his opportunities from the bottom of the order. His single in the third inning started a rally that ended with a grand slam by Kendrys Morales. Through the team's first few contests, Barney has seen time in left field and now at second. He'll continue to be deployed as the Jays' super-utility man moving forward.

Barney struck out as a pinch hitter in his only at-bat of Monday's Opening Day loss to the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
The super-utility man played left field, a position he's defended just five times in his career, for two frames during the extra-inning affair. As evidenced in Monday's game, Barney's fantasy appeal stems from his versatility, an attribute that should continue to provide the 31-year-old with consistent (albeit limited) plate appearances during the campaign.
