Allen allowed a solo home run and recorded one strikeout in an inning of work while earning his 10th save of the season Tuesday against the Brewers.
EDGE Analysis
Spotted a two-run lead, Allen immediately made things interesting by allowing a solo home run to Travis Shaw to lead off the home half of the ninth. He buckled down after, however, retiring the next three men he faced in order to end the game. Allen allowed a walkoff home run in his previous outing without retiring a batter, and he'll need to cut down on the long balls if he's to maintain his status as one of the better fantasy closers available.

Allen locked down a perfect four-out save Wednesday night against the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Allen is now up to 8-for-9 in save chances and has now gone at least four outs for each of his past two saves. Cleveland's strength is the back end of their bullpen, and they managed to stretch Andrew Miller and Allen across three full innings Wednesday night. If Allen shows the endurance to handle these long saves, expect Cleveland to keep giving him the call in the eighth.

Allen (2-1) recorded a five-out save Saturday against the Astros. He allowed a solo home run and recorded one strikeout.
EDGE Analysis
Marwin Gonzalez got Allen with a long ball in the ninth, but the steady reliever was able to close the door from there to pick up his sixth save of 2017. It was the first time this month that Allen was asked to pick up more than three outs, and though he did have the one mistake, he was still effective overall. Allen sports a 3.38 ERA and a 1.29 WHIP with 21 strikeouts over 18.2 innings. It's worth noting that Allen's extended appearance Saturday came on the heels of Andrew Miller being unavailable with a back issue.

Allen was hit with the loss and a blown save against the Yankees on Sunday, giving up three earned runs on four hits in two-thirds of an inning, striking out none and walking one as the Indians lost 7-4 to the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
Allen (2-1) got tagged with his first blown save of the season in relief of Mike Clevinger after giving up back-to-back doubles to Aaron Hicks and Neil Walker before Dan Otero gave up a walk-off home run to Gleyber Torres. His ERA jumped from 1.88 to 3.60 with the performance and he hasn't been at his sharpest lately after a strong start to the season, but Allen's strong track record means there probably shouldn't be any concerns over his job security based off this poor outing.

Allen allowed two runs on two hits in a non-save situation Friday, pitching .1 inning in a win over the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
Allen entered with one on and two out in the ninth in relief of Corey Kluber with a four-run lead. He allowed a double to the first batter, and then a three-run homer to Mariners' catcher Mike Zunino. He got the next batter to line out to end the game. The two runs on Allen's record constitute the first runs he's allowed this year, and thus he no longer holds an untarnished ERA. The numbers are still plenty good though, as he holds a 0.79 WHIP and .179 batting average against, and is 5-for-5 in save chances.

Allen got the save against the Orioles on Monday, striking out the side without allowing a baserunner in a clean ninth inning to close out Cleveland's 2-1 victory.
EDGE Analysis
It was the fourth save of the season in as many opportunities for Allen, who still has yet to give up an earned run in his nine appearances and has only allowed five hits and two walks over that time. He's been his usual lights-out self to start the season and should continue to be considered one of the most reliable closer options out there.

Allen notched his third save of the season Tuesday with a scoreless frame against the Tigers. He struck out one batter and didn't allow a baserunner.
EDGE Analysis
Andrew Miller took over for Allen on Monday after Allen had pitched in two of the Indians' past three games. Allen reclaimed his role Tuesday and shut the door with a clean inning that needed just 13 pitches. He is a perfect three-for-three in save opportunities this year and he has not allowed a run. Allen has picked up where he left off last year and remains one of the most reliable closers in the game.

Allen (1-0) threw one perfect inning and struck out two batters in Sunday's victory over the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
Allen shut down the Royals and needed just 14 pitches to get through the ninth inning. While the dominant righty is typically a reliable source of saves, he earned a win Sunday as Yan Gomes hit a walkoff two-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning. Over four games (five innings) this season, Allen has yet to allow a run and has recorded five strikeouts.

Allen walked one and struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning Friday to pick up his second save of the season in a 3-2 win over the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
It's been so far so good for the 29-year-old closer in 2018, as Allen has a 0.00 ERA and 3:1 K:BB through his first three appearances and four innings. Barring injury, he seems headed for another campaign with 30-plus saves, a sub-3.00 ERA and around 90 strikeouts, ranking him among the elite bullpen options in baseball.

Allen completed one inning to earn a save Saturday against the Mariners, allowing no earned runs on no hits and no walks while striking out one.
EDGE Analysis
Allen got his 2018 season off to a solid start, pitching a clean ninth inning to secure a win for the Indians. His success comes as little surprise given that he has saved 30 games or more in each of the past three seasons while never blowing more than four opportunities in any of those seasons. While Andrew Miller may steal a save opportunity from time to time, there are few safer options at closer than Allen.
