Young (7-4) pitched 5.1 innings, giving up a run on six hits and a walk while striking out two in Thursday's 2-0 loss to the Twins. Young dodged trouble for most of 5.1 innings, the only run he allowed coming on a triple by Danny Santana in the fifth. The big, lanky right-hander turned over a 1-0 deficit to the game's best bullpen, but the Kansas City offense was unable to bail him out, leading to the loss. Young will give it another go in his next scheduled start Tuesday against the Rays.

Young won his seventh game of the season Saturday, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits and a walk over six innings, striking out four. He bounced right back after a rough outing last Sunday against the Red Sox, and Young now has an impressive 2.71 ERA and 0.99 WHIP on the season. His next start comes on Thursday, at home to the Twins.

Young was hit hard in Sunday's start against the Red Sox, allowing seven runs on seven hits and three walks in just 4.2 innings. The soft-tossing veteran allowed three home runs on the day and could not escape the fifth inning after allowing five runs on a homer and a bases-loaded double. Young has been inconsistent in his past six starts, earning three wins via shutout and allowing 17 total runs in his other three. He will try to right the ship Saturday against the Athletics.

Young threw seven shutout innings and allowed just five hits in a win Tuesday over Milwaukee. He struck out three and didn't walk a batter. As long as Young isn't walking batters, he'll have a chance to keep stringing together good starts. He has now gone at least six innings without giving up an earned run four times this season. His ERA sits at 1.98, but his value is limited as he has just two outings with more than four strikeouts all year.

Young will have his next scheduled start pushed back to Tuesday in Milwaukee, Andy McCullough of the Kansas City Star reports. Young will take the rotation spot of Joe Blanton in a move that allows manager Ned Yost to start Edinson Volquez on normal rest Monday. Considering that half of the Royals' Opening Day rotation is either on the disabled list or at least dealing with a minor ailment, Young should continue to own a rotation spot for several weeks to come.

Young will not make his regularly scheduled start Sunday as the game has been postponed due to weather, Andy McCullough of the Kansas City Star reports. No makeup date has yet been announced, nor has an announcement regarding Young's next start been made, although it will likely be pushed back to Monday in Milwaukee. If that ends up being the case, Young's fantasy owners will be rewarded with a much better matchup.

Young carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning and earned the win Tuesday against Minnesota. He walked three and struck out two over 6.1 shutout innings. Young recovered from a pair of poor starts to baffle the Twins, as a Trevor Plouffe triple in the seventh finally chased him. Young's .196 BABIP makes him look ripe for regression, but he has a 3.32 ERA in 217 innings dating back to 2014 now. He's no ace, but he knows how to get outs.

Young (4-2) was battered for six runs and eight hits in five innings Thursday against the Indians. He struck out four and walked two. Young had been dominant since moving from the bullpen to the Kansas City rotation, allowing just one earned run over his first four starts. But the AL's comeback player of the year with Seattle last season has struggled the past couple of weeks. Young gave up four runs and seven hits in six innings against the Yankees his last time out. Not even facing the Indians helped. He had been 2-0 with a 2.08 ERA in his career against them. Young has now lost two straight, and he'll look to bounce back in his next start Tuesday at Minnesota.

Young (4-1) took his first loss of the year Wednesday, giving up four runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out seven Yankees. This is the second time in Young's five starts that he's exhibited surprising bat-missing ability, as he struck out nine Tigers on May 1, but just seven batters total in his next three outings. The veteran's still got sparkling stats so far this year, but regression is starting to come for him, so now might be a good time to try to shop him. Young will draw Cleveland on Wednesday.

Young (4-0) shut the Cardinals out over six innings Friday, allowing six hits and two walks while striking out two in a 5-0 win. Young may be the surprise of the season, as Friday's performance lowered his ERA to an incredible 0.78. He's still not striking many guys out, and that's sure to come back to bite him in the long run, but Young's seemingly secured a starting role for the defending AL champs. The next time Young takes the mound will be against the struggling Yankees on Wednesday at Yankee Stadium.
