Denorfia hit his first home run as a Mariner and got on base four times in Thursday's 10-2 demolition of the Rangers. In addition to hitting his second homer of the season, Denorfia doubled, drew a pair of walks and scored three runs. A heck of a nice game for a guy who hadn't picked up a hit since Aug. 23.

Denorfia had really struggled since the trade to the Mariners, as the triple was his first extra-base hit since coming over. This upcoming week could be tough for him - the Mariners face just one left-hander, and that one left-hander is Cole Hamels.

Chris Cotillo of MLB Daily Dish reports that the Padres are working to trade Chris Denorfia "soon." Cotillo says the Giants, Blue Jays, and Mariners are among the teams expressing interest in Denorfia, who can become a free agent after this season. The 34-year-old is batting just .244/.295/.321 so far in 2014, but his career line is much better than that and he can play all three outfield spots. The Padres have already moved closer Huston Street and third baseman Chase Headley this month.
