Denorfia went 2-for-5 with his first homer of the year, four RBI and two runs in Wednesday's rout of the Indians. The 34-year-old outfielder has been stunningly productive in a part-time role for the Cubs, as he's hitting a ridiculous .396, but it'd been mostly singles until Wednesday. He started against righty Shawn Marcum in this one, possibly indicating an increased short-term role while Jorge Soler (ankle) remains out.

Denorfia is out of Thursday's lineup against the Reds. Denorfia will get the day off Thursday following three straight starts between left and right field after his activation off the disabled list. Junior Lake will slot in right field, while Chris Coghlan is in left.

Denorfia will start in right field Sunday against the Nationals. Denorfia was reinstated from the disabled list Sunday morning, and manager Joe Maddon will waste no time getting him into the starting lineup. Junior Lake, who has made five straight starts (5-for-19 over that span) will take a seat to make room in the lineup. Denorfia is a likely candidate to take reps away from Lake in the short term, or at least until Jorge Soler (ankle) returns from the disabled list.

Denorfia (hamstring) was activated from the 15-day disabled list Sunday. Denorfia hasn't been available to the Cubs since early-May, but will will now have a chance to compete for regular playing time. With Jorge Soler (ankle) expected to miss approximately three weeks, the right-handed Denorfia should challenge Junior Lake for reps in right field. Prior to suffering the injury, Denorfia had been 9-for-21 at the plate with a double and an RBI.

Denorfia (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Tennessee on Thursday, Jesse Rogers of ESPN Chicago reports. Denorfia is ready to resume playing after recovering from his hamstring injury. It's not clear how many rehab games he will need before returning to the big club, but expect him to resume his role as a reserve outfielder when he does.

Denorfia (hamstring) remains sidelined but is getting closer to returning to action, Jesse Rogers of ESPN Chicago reports. The update on Denorfia's status from manager Joe Maddon was rather vague, but it would seem he is making progress with his hamstring. While Denorfia is moving in the right direction, a target date for his return remains uncertain.

Denorfia (hamstring) was placed on the 15-day DL on Tuesday, Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune reports. A corresponding move was not immediately announced, and while Matt Szczur is expected to get the call, Szczur was still not with the team about three hours before Tuesday's game. Denorfia left Monday's game after aggravating a hamstring injury and is without a set timetable for a return.

Denorfia (hamstring) will be placed on the DL, Carrie Muskat of MLB.com reports. Denorfia prematurely exited Monday's game against the Cardinals when he aggravated a previous hamstring injury that kept him off the field for almost a month ahead of the season. Matt Szczur will be called up to replace Denorfia's spot on the roster but Junior Lake is the favorite to actually assume Denorfia's place in the lineup moving forward.

The Cubs confirmed that Denorfia was removed from Monday's game after aggravating a hamstring injury, Gordon Wittenmyer of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Denorfia was sidelined for about a month after first sustaining the hamstring injury in spring training, and only spent a week with the Cubs before the issue acted up again. He'll more than likely be bound for his second stint on the DL of the season, leaving Junior Lake to serve as the team's top outfield option off the bench.

Denorfia was removed from Monday's game against the Cardinals in the top of the third inning with a suspected hamstring injury, MLB.com's Carrie Muskat reports. Denorfia appeared to suffer the injury while advancing from first to third base on a single by Addison Russell, as he was immediately replaced by Junior Lake. The reserve outfielder was making a rare spot start for Jorge Soler, but that may be last we see of him for a while. Denorfia had only recently returned to action after the hamstring injury resulted in him opening the season on the DL, so if he did in fact aggravate it, another trip to the DL may await.
