Chris Denorfia went 2-for-2 with a walk, a homer, two RBI and two runs scored in Friday's victory over the Dodgers. All five of him homers this year have come off southpaws, including this evening's bomb off of Clayton Kershaw. Cameron Maybin's injuries have meant increased playing time for Denorfia, who has posted a .278/.336/.392 slash line with five homers and seven steals over 227 at-bats on the year.

Denorfia was set to lose a lot of playing time with Cameron Maybin back, but now he'll return to starting against some righties. He was going to keep on playing against lefties regardless. Certainly one of the game's most unheralded players, Denorfia keeps producing no matter which outfield position the Padres may ask him to play on a given night. The 32-year-old is batting .301/.352/.406 with five steals (and no pickoffs), two homers, 14 RBI and 19 runs and 133 at-bats. He's given NL-only owners everything they could have hoped for.

Chris Denorfia went 3-for-6 with a double, a steal and two runs scored versus the Dodgers on Tuesday. If Denorfia isn't the game's best fourth outfielder, he's gotta be in the top three. Getting extra playing time now with Carlos Quentin sitting out, he's 15-for-38 with a .465 OBP this year.

Chris Denorfia went 4-for-6 with a double and two RBI versus the Cardinals on Monday. Denorfia has put together a 10-game hitting streak, even though he had just one at-bat in two of those games, and his average is up to .303. He's been one of the game's best role players this year.

Padres signed OF Chris Denorfia to a contract extension through the 2014 season. Denorfia would have been eligible for arbitration one last time this winter, so the Padres have bought out one free agent year. The financial particulars are not yet known. Denorfia has put up a solid .290/.346/.445 batting line with six homers and nine steals this season. He's also a career .314/.380/.445 hitter against left-handed pitching, which helps to make him a decent extra outfielder.

Chris Denorfia didn't start Monday's game due to a sore shoulder. Denorfia popped out as a pinch-hitter in the seventh inning, which is a sign that his absence from the lineup will be brief. Padres manager Bud Black is hopeful that he'll be ready to return Tuesday against Madison Bumgarner.

Denorfia is hitting a solid .292/.354/.427 on the season, but has swatted only 17 extra-base hits to go along with 12 RBI. He's a spare part in mixed leagues.

Chris Denorfia belted a go-ahead, two-run homer in the eighth inning of Wednesday's win over the Diamondbacks. It's all the tallies the Padres needed in the 2-1 win. Denorfia has received just two starts so far this season, and this was his first extra base hit. He has some speed and a little bit of pop, but there's not going to be any value to be had here unless you're in a super deep league.
