Carter went 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI in Tuesday's 7-1 win over the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
It's just his second homer of the season and first since April 22. The outburst snapped a 2-for-20 skid by Carter, who so far hasn't done much to take advantage of the playing time afforded him by Greg Bird's lingering ankle issue. With Bird's recovery timetable still unclear Carter should continue seeing the bulk of the action at first base, but if he doesn't pick up the pace soon Matt Holliday, who's played four games at first this year, could begin to push Carter back to the bench.

Carter is not in the Yankees' starting lineup Friday against the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
Jacoby Ellsbury gets the start at DH and Aaron Hicks slots into center field, relegating Carter to the bench. The power-hitting righty is just 4-for-20 over his last eight games and has not hit a home run since April 21 after blasting 41 of them last season.

Carter is out of the lineup Monday against the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
With no designated hitter spot available in Cincinnati, the Yankees will move Matt Holliday to first base for the second straight day, resulting in Carter hitting the bench. Carter is still expected to see the bulk of the starts at first base for the foreseeable future with Greg Bird (ankle) facing an uncertain return timeline, so those in AL-only or deeper mixed leagues in need of power are advised to hold on to Carter.

Carter is in the lineup Tuesday against the Blue Jays, playing first base and batting eighth, Erik Boland of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
The defending National League home run king seems to be in line for regular starts now that Greg Bird (ankle) is on the disabled list, and Tuesday's lineup is consistent with that notion. Carter's spot in the order is less than ideal, however, so expectations should be tempered until he proves he can put up solid numbers from such a disadvantageous spot in the lineup.

Carter is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
The Yankees will go with the left-handed Jacoby Ellsbury at designated hitter against righty Adam Wainwright for Sunday's series finale. Carter is slashing .182/.240/.273 with no home runs through his first 22 at-bats of the season. He'll have a chance to draw back into the lineup Monday against southpaw Derek Holland.

Carter is slotted in the third spot as the designated hitter for Saturday's matinee against the Cardinals, Brandon Kuty of The Star-Ledger reports.
EDGE Analysis
Carter receives the spot start in place of an ailing Matt Holiday (back). The 30-year-old slugger is hitting .176/.250/.294 to begin the season, stats he will need to improve upon if he desires to see more regular playing time.

Carter figures to be in line for at least another start at first base Sunday as Greg Bird (foot/ankle) won't be able to return until Monday at the earliest, MLB.com's Bryan Hoch reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bird is day-to-day, and while the Yankees hope to have him back for Monday's series opener in Baltimore, it is far from a lock. This means Carter's playing time will see a short-term spike, although he remains pretty volatile in weekly leagues, given the timing of Bird's injury.

Carter is batting cleanup and starting at first base for Saturday's game against Baltimore, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
It will mark Carter's first career start as a Yankee after being acquired by the team this offseason. The slugger compiled 41 home runs and 94 RBI over 160 games with Milwaukee last season, but will need to improve his average (.222) if he is to see more regular playing time. Greg Bird gets the day off.

Carter went 0-for-3 with a walk and one RBI in Thursday's game.
EDGE Analysis
The slugger was back in the lineup Thursday after missing a few games with an illness, but his struggles at the plate continued. He is just 4-for-28 (.143) with one home run and three RBI through 12 games this spring, which isn't helping his bid for playing time over Greg Bird and Matt Holiday.

Carter was scratched from Wednesday's lineup due to an illness, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
He'll be replaced by Greg Bird in the lineup while he works his way back. The slugger isn't helping his bid for playing time, as he is just 4-for-25 (.160) with one homer through 11 games this spring. Consider him day-to-day until the Yankees specify otherwise.
