Ramos was torched for eight runs (six earned) on eight hits and five walks over just 3.2 innings in Monday's loss to Oakland.
EDGE Analysis
Ramos's return to the rotation was only due to an injury to Yu Darvish. He had neither control nor command on Monday and may not get another shot in the rotation as a result even though Darvish is headed to the disabled list. Ramos has a 4.88 ERA in 31.1 innings and has already allowed six home runs. He managed just one strikeout in Monday's disaster and now has an ugly 18:15 K:BB.

Ramos will start Monday's game against Oakland, TR Sullivan of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Yu Darvish (shoulder) set to miss at least one outing, Ramos will make his fourth start of the season in what will be his first appearance since June 4. The 31-year-old lefty threw 96, 94 and 80 pitches in his first three starts, allowing five runs over 16.1 innings with 13 strikeouts. He'll have a favorable matchup in a pitcher-friendly ballpark Monday, but if he does get a second start this week, it would line up for Saturday in St. Louis. Meanwhile, Darvish is back in Dallas for an MRI and further examination.

Ramos picked up a three-inning save in Monday's blowout win over Cleveland.
EDGE Analysis
Ramos continues to be useful in a swing role. Between three starts and three relief appearances, he now has a 3.51 ERA, but his meager 10 strikeouts in 25.2 innings leaves something to be desired.

Ramos (1-2) allowed one run on two hits and one walk while striking out three over six innings to earn the win Saturday at the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
The only damage Ramos allowed was a solo homer in the third inning, and the offense did just enough to get him the win. He's now allowed two runs in his last 11.1 innings over two starts to lower his ERA to 3.57. He'll make his next start Friday against the Pirates.

Ramos allowed one run on seven hits and two walks while striking out four over 4.1 innings, but received no decision Sunday against the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
Ramos struggled with control, leading him to burn through 94 pitches before making it through the fifth inning. He's now allowed 15 baserunners in his last 6.1 innings of work to raise his WHIP to 1.80. He'll make his next start Saturday at the Astros.

Ramos (0-1) took the loss as he allowed three runs on nine hits and two walks over six innings in his first MLB start of 2016 Monday against the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Ramos was forced into the starting rotation by a groin injury for Rangers ace Cole Hamels. He managed to scatter nine hits, and while he allowed two home runs, they were both of the solo variety. Ramos was nasty at times, as he induced 11 swinging strikes in 96 pitches. But Ramos's fastball topped out at just 92.5 MPH, and Yankees hitters punished him when he made mistakes. Ramos posted a 2.75 ERA in 52.1 relief innings last season for the Angels. He has rarely started, as Monday marked just his 11th MLB start in 252 appearances, so we'll have to wait and see how long he sticks in this role for the Rangers.

Ramos had his contract purchased from Triple-A Round Rock on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Ramos will act as the starting pitcher Monday in place of Cole Hamels. To make room on the roster for Ramos, Nick Martinez was optioned to Triple-A and Keone Kela was transferred to the 60-day disabled list.

Ramos is the leading candidate to fill the vacancy in the Rangers' rotation for Monday's game against the Yankees, TR Sullivan of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cole Hamels was initially scheduled to take the hill Monday, but the Rangers have opted to scratch him for that game after he picked up a groin injury following his most recent start. It's not expected that Hamels will miss more than one turn in the rotation, so if Ramos indeed gets the call to pitch Monday, he's unlikely to parlay the opportunity into an extended run with the big club. The 31-year-old has a 3.18 ERA and 10 strikeouts over 11.1 innings in his three starts with Round Rock this season.
