Carlos Quentin went 1-for-2 with a solo home run on Tuesday against the D'Backs. Quentin victimized Randall Delgado in the second inning, debuting in the Cactus League in style. The outfielder underwent knee surgery in September, but he is hoping to cross the 500 plate appearance plateau for the first time since 2010.

Carlos Quentin (knee) will make his Cactus League debut on Tuesday. The Padres have brought Quentin along slowly this spring following last September's right knee surgery, which was his third operation on the knee in 18 months. Quentin has said that he's feeling much better now than when he reported to spring training last year, but the injury-prone veteran outfielder is always going to be a poor bet to stay healthy.

Padres manager Bud Black said Sunday that Carlos Quentin's (knee) Cactus League debut is "right around the corner, in a couple days." Quentin had right knee surgery in September, which was his third operation on the knee in 18 months. However, he said last month that he's feeling much better now than when he reported to spring training last year. As always, he's a poor bet to stay healthy this season.

Carlos Quentin said Wednesday that his right knee feels much better now that it did heading into spring training last year. Quentin had an operation on the knee in September, which was his third in 18 months. The outfielder has played in just 168 games over the last two seasons and is always going to be a health risk, but he believes the latest surgery combined with a more upright batting stance will give him a better shot to stay on the field.

Carlos Quentin said that he feels "a lot better" about surgery this past week on his right knee than he did about the previous two operations on the knee. Quentin said he already "feels so much better" and thinks the operation, as well as "my new standing taller stance" will make a difference for him going forward. "I didn't realize how much torque I was putting on my right knee with my old stance from the squat," the outfielder added. "I'd swing without moving my right foot, which transferred everything to the knee."

Carlos Quentin underwent surgery Tuesday to have debris and floating particles removed from his right knee. The good news is that he didn't need microfracture surgery, which was a possibility. However, it's the third time Quentin has had his right knee operated on, so whether or not he ever will feel totally normal again is up in the air. The Padres expect him to be ready to go for the start of spring training.

Carlos Quentin will undergo his season-ending knee surgery on Tuesday. It will be the third operation on the slugger's chronically injured right knee. Assuming all goes well and Quentin has a healthy offseason, he should be ready to go for the start of the 2014 season.

Carlos Quentin will be shut down for the remainder of the 2013 season with a strained right knee. He will undergo surgery to repair his injured knee, though that date has yet to be determined. With the Padres out of playoff contention, there is no reason to rush him back and risk further injury. The perpetually injured Quentin finishes the season hitting .275/.363/.493 with 13 homers and 44 RBI in just 276 at-bats.

Padres manager Bud Black said that Carlos Quentin (knee) has shown "marked improvement" over the last two days while running on a treadmill. Due to the improvement with Quentin's right knee, the Padres have put off making a decision on his status for the rest of the season. He'll need to run on the field before it's decided whether he'll make it back sometime next month, though when the test run will take place hasn't been determined yet.

Carlos Quentin will test his injured knee on Saturday to determine the next course of action. Quentin received the third of three lubricant injections in his strained right knee last week, and the threat of season-ending knee surgery still looms large. Quentin has been hitting in the cage and doing strength training, but this will be the first real test of his knee. Fantasy owners shouldn't count on him to contribute the remainder of the season.
