Carlos Peguero blasted his fourth home run of the spring Tuesday, a two-run shot off the Reds' Jeff Francis. Peguero also singled, driving in four runs on the day. The mammoth outfielder is hitting .268 with an .863 OPS this spring in his effort to win a spot on the bench. Peguero still strikes out way too much, but his power makes him worth tracking in AL-only formats.

Carlos Peguero homered in a second straight game Saturday against the A's. Peguero, the Mariners' primary left fielder from mid-May to mid-July last year, isn't in the team's plans for the beginning of this season, though that could change if he explodes for 8-10 homers this month. He may always swing and miss too often to be of much use, but he does possess a whole lot of power.

Carlos Peguero went 2-for-4 and hit his sixth homer Saturday versus the Marlins. Peguero has flashed big-time power for the Mariners, but he's hitting just .211 and he has a 38/6 K/BB ratio in 114 at-bats. He doesn't belong in the majors right now, and he might be sent back to Triple-A before the All-Star break.
