Peguero connected for a pair of homers in a 11-3 win over Houston Wednesday. Peguero homered Tuesday as well, though he still managed to strike out three more times between the two games. There are going to be a ton of variance in his game-by-game line with his approach, but there's a lottery ticket potential for those in daily formats.

Peguero went 0-for-2 with a walk and two strikeouts in Monday's loss to Seattle before getting removed for a pinch-hitter in the eighth inning as part of a tactical adjustment. He's now hitting .192 since being called up by the Rangers after Ryan Rua hit the disabled list. Peguero is in danger of losing playing time in May once Josh Hamilton is ready to come off the DL, but it's entirely possible that he'll fall off the roster before then as he's now struck out in 12 of his 26 at-bats over 12 games with the Rangers.

Peguero is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Diamondbacks. The 28-year-old has logged at least one at-bat in each of the Rangers' nine games since his April 11 callup, but he's out of the lineup Wednesday for the fourth time in six games. Peguero does have three doubles in 21 at-bats, and may be afforded more time when the Rangers return to AL parks.

Peguero went 1-for-3 with a double and a stolen base in Monday's loss to the Angels. Peguero has now gotten multiple at-bats in three straight games since getting the call from Triple-A. The outfielder hasn't been a big stolen base threat in his MLB career, but he is getting a chance for now for the banged-up Rangers.

Peguero's contract was purchased from Triple-A and he will receive the start in right field Saturday against the Astros. Despite just getting called up from Round Rock, Peguero was thrown right into the fire, manning right field and occupying the two hole in the Rangers' injury-depleted lineup. Shin-Soo Choo is not expected to need a DL stint, but left field Ryan Rua does, so Peguero could be up with the Rangers for a couple of weeks. The 28-year-old journeyman has some pop, hitting nine homers in 69 career games in the big leagues, but he also has a .196 career batting average and a 38.9 percent K-rate, so contact will be an issue for him.

Peguero will begin the season in Triple-A, Stefan Stevnson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports. Peguero remained in consideration for the starting spot in left field just over a week ago, but has now officially been eliminated from the running. Ryan Rua appears to be the leading candidate at this point, while the departure of Peguero means Rule 5 pick Delino DeShields has secured a roster spot.

Peguero collected three more hits Sunday and is playing his way into consideration for the open left field spot, the team's web site reports. A strong spring is nothing new for Peguero, though he's yet to hit in the majors for any prolonged stretch.

Peguero signed a minor league deal, which includes a spring training invite, with the Rangers on Tuesday, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports. Peguero, who was placed on waivers by the Royals in mid-December, finished second in the Pacific Coast League with 30 home runs in 104 games last season at Triple-A Omaha. He'll look to earn a reserve spot with the Rangers out of camp but will likely begin the year in Triple-A.

The Royals placed Peguero on release waivers Friday. Peguero smacked 30 home runs in 104 Triple-A games last season, but he is apparently no longer in the Royals' plans. Peguero will be released if he is not claimed off waivers, but even if no team does that, a player with his power probably will not be out of work long.

Peguero's contract was selected from Triple-A Omaha on Monday, Josh Vernier of Fox Sports Kansas City reports. Peguero will add depth to Royals' outfield in September, and will add some pop off the bench. In 104 games at Triple-A Omaha, Peguero hit 30 home runs and drove in 76, making him a valuable option off the bench late in games.
