Bruce Chen was handed a no-decision Saturday after limiting the Mets to just one run over six innings. Chen struck out a season-high eight batters, which is one shy of his career best. The only damage was a solo homer by Daniel Murphy in the first inning. The veteran southpaw was in line for the win before Aaron Crow gave up a two-run single in the eighth inning. Chen now has a 1.50 ERA in four starts since rejoining the Royals' rotation. We wouldn't buy in mixed fantasy leagues, especially with a start against the Red Sox coming up next week.

Bruce Chen surrendered two runs on three hits over six innings in the Royals' 4-2 win over the White Sox on Sunday. He struck out five and walked two in the no-decision. The southpaw has now allowed seven hits and three runs over his last three starts, covering 18 innings and dating back to before the All-Star break. Chen owns an impressive 2.09 ERA in 51 2/3 innings overall this year. He's a streamer option in mixed leagues next weekend when he takes on the Mets in New York.

Bruce Chen allowed one run over six innings in the Royals' 4-3 win over the Orioles on Tuesday. Chen was stellar, allowing just three hits and no walks while striking out four. His only blemish was a solo home run hit by Manny Machado. The southpaw has now allowed four hits and one run over his last 12 innings dating back to before the All-Star break, and he's got an impressive 1.97 ERA in 45 2/3 innings overall this year. He'll try to keep rolling when he takes on the White Sox in Chicago on Sunday.

Bruce Chen was terrific in his first start of the 2013 season on Friday, limiting the Indians to just one hit and a walk over six scoreless innings. The veteran southpaw also struck out four on the night. Unfortunately for him, the Royals' offense couldn't generate any offense to get him a victory. Through 39 2/3 innings on the season, he now owns a 2.04 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 28/14 K/BB ratio. While the numbers look nice from a distance, he owns a career 4.55 ERA and 1.39 WHIP and shouldn't be counted on for fantasy purposes.

Bruce Chen will replace Luis Mendoza in the Royals' rotation. Chen will make his first start of the season on Friday in Cleveland. The left-hander has posted a 2.41 ERA in long relief this season, though it's also come along with a 1.46 WHIP. He's probably a better option than Mendoza but should be avoided in fantasy leagues.

Bruce Chen hasn't allowed an earned run and holds an 11/1 K/BB ratio over 9 2/3 relief innings this season. Meanwhile, Luis Mendoza has a 7.00 ERA and 1.50 WHIP and Wade Davis has a 5.55 ERA and 1.97 WHIP. The Royals could look to change things up at the back-end of the rotation if Mendoza and Davis don't pick it up, as both Chen and Luke Hochever have pitched very well.

Bruce Chen will start the season pitching out of the bullpen. Chen lost out to Luis Mendoza for the final spot in the starting rotation. The veteran left-hander had minimal fantasy value as a starter and he'll be rendered irrelevant out of the bullpen.

Bruce Chen was hammered for seven runs -- six earned -- in five innings Saturday against the Cubs. Chen yielded nine hits -- five of which were homers -- and also issued a walk. He now has a 7.90 ERA in the Cactus League and seems to be falling behind in the race for the final spot in the Kansas City starting rotation.

Bruce Chen, Will Smith, Luis Mendoza and Yordano Ventura will be considered for the fifth spot in the Royals' starting rotation. Luke Hochevar was eliminated from the field Wednesday when Royals manager Ned Yost announced that he was being moved to the bullpen. Chen is the likely favorite in part because he's due to make $4.5 million this year, but the veteran left-hander is an uninspiring option in fantasy leagues.

Bruce Chen allowed one earned run over three innings Tuesday in the Royals' 8-2 defeat of the A's. Chen issued no walks and struck out two. He has agreed to remain in Royals camp all spring rather than pitch for Panama or China in the WBC, and will hope to claim the final spot in the Kansas City rotation. Chen posted a 5.07 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 140/47 K/BB ratio across 191 2/3 innings last year.
