The Royals signed Brach to a minor-league contract Monday that includes an invitation to big-league spring training.
EDGE Analysis
Brach didn't take long to find an opportunity with another organization after the Mets released him last week. The 34-year-old will bring a wealth of MLB experience to the Kansas City bullpen, but he likely won't be trusted to handle high-leverage work to begin the season even if he's able to win a spot on the Royals' Opening Day roster. Over the past two seasons, Brach has posted a 5.54 ERA, 1.65 WHIP and 9.7 K-BB% across 66.2 innings.

Brach was released by the Mets on Tuesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Brach will have to search for a new team after passing through waivers unclaimed. Heading into his age-35 season having produced ERAs well above 5.00 in each of the last two years, he'll presumably be stuck auditioning for a minor-league deal.

Brach was designated for assignment by the Mets on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Brach exercised his one-year, $2.075 million player option in October, but he'll be removed from the 40-man roster just before the start of spring training to make room for Jonathan Villar. Brach only made 14 relief appearances for the Mets in 2020 after battling COVID-19 during summer camp. When he was healthy, the 35-year-old posted a 5.84 ERA and 1.78 ERA over 12.1 innings.

Brach will remain a Met in 2021 after exercising his one-year, $2.075 million player option Saturday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
A battle with COVID-19 during summer camp limited Brach to just 12.1 innings this season. He failed to impress, posting a 14:14 K:BB and a 5.84 ERA, so it makes sense that the veteran righty would happily snap up any guaranteed money available heading into his age-35 season. Brach has now posted ERAs of 5.47 or worse in two straight seasons after posting a 3.78 ERA or better in each of the previous seven campaigns, so his chances of returning to his former high-leverage role appear slim.

Brach (1-0) pitched 1.1 scoreless innings, allowing a walk and striking out one to earn the win in Wednesday's victory over the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
Brach came on in relief of Edwin Diaz, who left the game with leg cramps in eighth inning. Brach finished the eighth, and the Mets took the lead on Wilson Ramos' RBI single in the bottom half of the inning. The 34-year-old Brach then worked the ninth, and he picked up his first win this year. He has a 1.69 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and five strikeouts in 5.1 innings, mostly in a middle-relief role.

Brach (illness) was activated from the COVID-19 injured list Tuesday, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
Brach missed the early part of the season after missing the entirety of camp due to a positive COVID-19 test. He's since been able to build up his arm strength and will fill a relief role for the Mets, though it's unlikely to be a high-leverage one given that he struggled to a 5.47 ERA last season.

Brach confirmed Saturday that his absence from summer camp was due to COVID-19, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Brach was absent for all of camp due to previously undisclosed reasons and remains on the injured list. He did experience symptoms but said that his case was fairly mild. He'll need some time to build up his arm strength before seeing game action, and it's not yet clear when that's expected to happen.

Brach (undisclosed) rejoined the Mets on Saturday but remains on the injured list, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Brach missed all of camp for an undisclosed reason and was placed on the injured list in the middle of July. It's unclear where he's at in his progress toward game readiness, but he should require some time before he's ready to pitch in regular-season games. However, it's encouraging to see him back with the team.

Brach (undisclosed) was placed on the 10-day injured list Wednesday, Justin Toscano of The Bergen Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
This move comes after it was reported last week that Brach had yet to report to camp. The Mets didn't provide a reason behind the righty's placement on the injured list, and the team isn't legally allowed to confirm whether his absence is related to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Once healthy, Brach is looking to bounce back from a 2019 campaign in which he posted a career-worst 5.47 ERA in 54.1 innings.

Brach has yet to report to Mets camp, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
If Brach's absence were due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the Mets wouldn't legally be able to confirm. Brach is looking to bounce back from a 2019 campaign in which he posted a career-worst 5.47 ERA, though whether or not he's able to pitch at the start of the season given the time he's missed remains to be seen.
