Guerrero signed a one-year, $1.3 million contract Sunday with the Chunichi Dragons of the Japanese Central League, Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
It wasn't long ago that Guerrero was viewed as the next highly-touted Cuban import set to make a splash in the MLB, but due to the Dodgers' existing infield depth along with his defensive shortcomings, lack of plate discipline and health woes, the 30-year-old never seemed to find anything more than fleeting success in his three years in the organization. He spent the entire 2016 campaign in the minors before getting released by the Dodgers last June, and didn't latch on anywhere thereafter. While Guerrero's natural power should allow him to thrive against lower-caliber pitching in Japan, considering his advancing age and previously failures in the MLB, it looks unlikely that he'll resurface in the big leagues again.

Guerrero was released by the Dodgers on Wednesday, Eric Stephen of True Blue LA reports.
EDGE Analysis
Guerrero had been designated for assignment on May 31 and will now seek employment with a new team. The Cuban hit just .031 through eight games at the Double-A level and .125 through two games at the Triple-A level this season.

Guerrero (knee) was designated for assignment by the Dodgers on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
The Dodgers had to make a decision with Guerrero's rehab clock expiring, and instead of reinstating him to the active roster, they decided to effectively cut ties. Under the terms of his contract, Guerrero cannot be sent to the minors without his consent. Los Angeles will likely have to eat close to $9 million if it cannot find a trade partner within the next 10 days.

Guerrero (knee) is expected to be designated for assignment by the Dodgers on Tuesday, J.P. Hoornstra of the Southern California News Group reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Dodgers are not expected to make an official announcement until later Tuesday night, but there simply does not appear to be room for Guerrero on the active roster. Guerrero did next to nothing while on a minor league rehab assignment, going a combined 9-for-66 (.136 average) with two extra-base hits (both with the High-A affiliate). He will probably look to land a minor league deal elsewhere.

Guerrero (knee) will take his rehab assignment to Triple-A Oklahoma City after going 1-for-30 for Double-A Tulsa.
EDGE Analysis
The clock is ticking on Guerrero, who cannot be kept in the minors past Monday without his consent per his contract. The Dodgers may just choose to eat the money due Guerrero (a bit over $8 million) and release him given his performance.

Guerrero (knee) is 0-for-20 since joining Double-A Tulsa on his rehab assignment.
EDGE Analysis
The Dodgers have another week to decide what to do with Guerrero, who can't be kept in the minors beyond that without his consent. It seems likely they will ask him to stay in the minors, but there's a real chance Guerrero could find himself in another organization soon.

Guerrero (knee) will move his rehab assignment to Double-A Tulsa on Tuesday, the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Guerrero completed the first stage of his rehab assignment at High-A Rancho Cucamonga, notching four singles, a home run and a walk in 22 plate appearances. He said he should be ready to rejoin the Dodgers in seven to 10 days, but the bigger question pertains to how the team will use him. There's no opening in the regular lineup, and Guerrero hinted that he'd refuse an assignment to the minors. A trade would make sense, though the Dodgers may not want be willing to deal him when his value is at a low point.

Guerrero (knee) is batting .238 with one home run in 21 at-bats for High-A Rancho Cucamonga.
EDGE Analysis
Guerrero should progress to a higher level soon and continue his rehab. He can be kept in the minors for another 15 games, so don't expect him back in the big leagues much before then.

Guerrero (knee) will begin his rehab assignment Tuesday at High-A Rancho Cucamonga, Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Guerrero began the season on the disabled list due to nagging knee and groin injuries, but he is nearing a return. Given that he's starting his rehab assignment at High-A, he'll likely need some time to get acclimated to game action before working his way up to the higher levels in the Dodgers' system before being activated off the disabled list. Guerrero can be on a rehab assignment for up to 20 games, according to Shaikin.

Manager Dave Roberts said Monday that he has "no idea" about Guerrero's (knee) status, the LA Times reports. "He's still in Glendale, I guess rehabbing," Roberts said. "You would think he's getting better."
EDGE Analysis
Guerrero began the season the disabled list and has remained at the team's spring training facility in Glendale to rehab a bruised knee. As Roberts' words indicate, Guerrero's status is still very much up in the air, and it's unclear when the 29-year-old could be back with the Dodgers. Initially, a mid-April return was anticipated, but early May now appears to be more realistic. The Dodgers are unable to send Guerrero to the minors without his consent, so he'll likely remain in Glendale until the knee is back to full strength.
