Gordon could miss up to two weeks due to a left hip labral tearRustin Dodd of The Athletic Kansas City reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gordon was placed on the disabled list Tuesday and is in line to miss at least 10 days to the injury. The tentative plan is for him to be evaluated again in five days, at which point information regarding his progress should become available. Until he's back in full health, look for Abraham Almonte and Paulo Orlando to share time in center field.

Gordon was placed on the disabled list Monday with a left hip labral tear.
EDGE Analysis
In a corresponding move, Abraham Almonte was recalled from Triple-A Omaha. At this point in time it's unclear how long Gordon will be on the shelf, but more information should become available as his rehab gets underway. With Gordon out, Paulo Orlando and Almonte could both be in line to see time in center field.

Manager Ned Yost said Gordon is dealing with a little bit of a groin issue and could miss a couple days, Rustin Dodd of The Athletic Kansas City reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's unclear when Gordon picked up the injury, but it helps explain his absence from Monday's lineup. Consider him day-to-day for now. Paulo Orlando is starting in center field and hitting sixth in his stead Monday.

Gordon went 0-for-3 with a strikeout in Tuesday's 1-0 win over the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
If not for the fact that he was owed $40 million between this season and next, Gordon would likely be off the Kansas City roster after slashing a combined .214/.302/.346 (74 wRC+) the past two years. Though Gordon arrived at spring training in February with the intention of revising his approach at the plate, any changes he has made haven't been visible in his results yet. Through four games, Gordon has recorded two hits in 14 at-bats and has yet to draw a walk.

Gordon has worked to retool his plate approach this offseason, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gordon is looking to bounce back from what was one of his worst offensive seasons to date, as he hit an abysmal .208/.293/.315 with just nine homers and 45 RBI in 148 games for the Royals in 2017. The 34-year-old believes his struggles at the plate last season -- and the year before, for that matter -- are at least somewhat attributable to his lack of approach, noting he was more focused on his swing or stance instead of going to the plate with a plan. "The thing is, last year for me was all about my swing or what I was doing wrong with my stance," he said. "But toward the end of the year, I figured out [the problem] was my approach. I didn't have one. I don't know how I lost it." Gordon could be onto something, as he hit a more respectable .250/.347/.452 with four homers and 10 walks in September (29 games), though it's tough to tell if the improved production is sustainable given he finished the year on a 4-for-25 (.160) stretch over his final 10 games. Either way, Gordon should see his fair share of starts in the outfield thanks to his elite defense, and it's possible -- though likely a long shot -- he could climb his way back to mixed-league relevance if his disciplined approach proves effective.

Gordon is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Yankees, Rustin Dodd of The Kansas City Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's been a trying year at the plate for Gordon, but the 33-year-old is hitting a respectable .288/.356/.545 with four homers in 66 at-bats over his last twenty starts. He'll get the day off as Melky Cabrera, Paulo Orlando and Jorge Bonifacio hold down the outfield for Kansas City (from left to right).

Gordon went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and two runs scored during Saturday's win over the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
It's been a disastrous season for the veteran, but Gordon has found a groove over the final weeks of the season. He entered Saturday's game with a .281/.343/.500 slash line in September and is now up to four homers, eight RBI and 14 runs through 22 games this month.

Gordon went 1-for-3 with a solo homer Tuesday in Toronto.
EDGE Analysis
Gordon's eighth-inning long ball was too little too late, as it concluded the scoring in a 5-2 defeat. It did, however, get his name into the record books by eclipsing the record for total home runs hit in a major league season at 5,694. Ironically, the 2005 second overall pick is in the midst of the worst season of his career, slashing just .209/.286/.314 with eight home runs in 137 games at age 33.

Gordon went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run Saturday during the Royals' 5-2 victory over the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
Gordon put on a rare power display with his sixth big fly of the year. Despite a four-game hit streak, he remains stuck in a disappointing campaign (.203/.285/.297 in 473 plate appearances) over which he's been a majority starter chiefly because he bats left-handed and plays stout defense. If only the latter counted in standard fantasy games.

Gordon is out of the lineup Sunday against the Twins, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gordon will be on the bench for a fourth time in five games, an indication that manager Ned Yost is no longer viewing the veteran as the primary option in left field. Though he brings plenty of defensive value, Gordon's .197/.281/.283 slash line on the season has made him one of the least-productive everyday players in baseball, and it appears the Royals could be inclined to kick the tires with other options as they look to chase down a playoff berth. Jorge Bonifacio and Paolo Orlando would probably be the main beneficiaries if Gordon's phaseout continues.
