Gordon (neck) is hitting sixth as the designated hitter Saturday against the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Gordon is back in the starting nine after missing the previous two games with a stiff neck and sore hip. The Royals will ease him back into action and limit him to DH duties in his first game back, but a return to the field shouldn't be far behind. Gordon will face Bartolo Colon in his return to action.

Gordon (neck) will miss his second straight game as he's not in Friday's starting lineup against the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Gordon suffered a neck injury on an attempt at a diving catch during Wednesday's game, and he's failed to return to the starting lineup since. In his absence, Jon Jay will take over in left field, with Abraham Almonte taking over in center. Gordon will continue to be listed as day-to-day until more information on his status is released.

Gordon was scratched from Thursday's lineup against the Rangers with a stiff neck.
EDGE Analysis
Gordon apparently suffered the injury while attempting to make a diving catch against the Cardinals on Wednesday. The severity of the issue remains unclear at this point. With Gordon out, the Royals will go with Jon Jay, Whit Merrifield and Jorge Soler from left to right in their outfield.

Gordon went 3-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's win against the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
In addition to the solo jack, Gordon smacked a pair of singles for his third three-hit game of the season. The 34-year-old was in the midst of an 0-for-14 slump with seven strikeouts, so Tuesday's showing was a much needed bounce-back effort. Despite the recent slide, Gordon is slashing .262/.323/.393 -- a significant upgrade over his past two seasons.

Gordon is out of the lineup Sunday against the Tigers, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gordon and fellow lefty hitter Lucas Duda will be withheld from the lineup in the series finale with southpaw Matthew Boyd twirling for Detroit. Abraham Almonte will thus earn a second consecutive start in the outfield while Gordon sits out.

Gordon went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI in a 5-2 win over the White Sox in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader.
EDGE Analysis
He also went 2-for-4 in the opener, boosting his slash line on the season to .261/.306/.326 through 13 games. Gordon remains a shadow of his former self at the plate -- he hasn't posted an OPS over .692 since 2015, and he's still looking for his first home run of 2018 -- but the 34-year-old continues to occupy a regular spot in the Royals' lineup when he's healthy, giving him a modicum of fantasy value.

Gordon (hip) was activated from the 10-day disabled list Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
As expected, Gordon is back with the big club after getting through a trio of minor-league rehab games with no issues over the weekend. The veteran outfielder should immediately slot back in as the team's primary center fielder, but his offensive struggles (.174/.208/.217 through seven games before getting hurt) leave much to be desired from a fantasy perspective.

Royals manager Ned Yost acknowledged Sunday that Gordon (hip) is "very close" to returning from the 10-day disabled list, perhaps as soon as Tuesday's series opener against the Brewers, Rustin Dodd of The Athletic Kansas City reports. "It could very well be the next series," Yost said of Gordon's impending activation. "But we just have to wait and see."
EDGE Analysis
Gordon made his second rehab appearance with Triple-A Omaha on Saturday, going 1-for-2 with a pair of walks. The Royals haven't provided any word that Gordon has experienced any setbacks with the hip, so if the outfielder is feeling fine following Kansas City's off day Monday, there's a good chance he'll be ready to go for the two-game set with Milwaukee. Gordon had seen regular use as the Royals' primary center fielder prior to going down with the injury, but offered little offensive impact, hitting just .174/.208/.217 across 24 plate appearances.

Gordon (hip) will embark on a rehab assignment with Triple-A Omaha on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Gordon has been participating in baseball activities since Friday, and is set to test his left hip after receiving an injection to alleviate the pain and inflammation last week. If all goes well with Omaha, Gordon could return to Kansas City for the start of the club's six-game homestand Tuesday.

Gordon was given a shot to alleviate pain and inflammation in his left hip Thursday and will resume baseball activities Friday, Maria Torres of The Kansas City Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gordon was placed on the 10-day disabled list due to a left hip labral tear prior to Wednesday's game and is expected to miss 10-to-14 days while recovering. In his place, Abraham Almonte and Paulo Orlando are expected to see time in center.
