Pierzynski is not in the lineup Tuesday for the second straight day. Pierzynski was held out Monday with left-hander Brett Anderson on the mound, and he will sit Tuesday for the second day in a row with an even tougher left-hander -- Clayton Kershaw -- on the mound for the Dodgers. Christian Bethancourt will get another start behind the plate Tuesday night.

Pierzynski is not in the lineup Monday against the Dodgers, Eric Stephen of SB Nation reports. Christian Bethancourt will get the nod against lefty Brett Anderson as Pierzysnki sits following two straight starts. The 38-year-old Pierzynski seemed to have fallen behind Bethancourt there toward the middle of May -- he sat five times in an eight-game stretch -- but he's started six of the last eight.

Pierzynski is out of the lineup Friday against the Brewers. This would seem to just be a standard day off for Pierzynski. Alex Wood was scratched and Eric Stults will make the start Friday, so the Braves may have opted to go with the defensive-minded Christian Bethancourt to try to lessen the downgrade at pitcher.

Pierzynski is not in the lineup Friday against the Marlins, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports. Pierzynski will sit in favor of Christian Bethancourt for a second straight game and for the fourth time in six games. The dip in playing time has coincided with Pierzynski's bat cooling -- he's gone just 4-for-29 with zero extra-base hits to begin May.

Pierzynski is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Reds, C. Trent Rosecrans of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports. Pierzysnki will give way to Christian Bethancourt behind the plate after an 0-for-5 showing in Tuesday's loss. While the 38-year-old Pierzynski does still seem to have a slight leg up in terms of playing time, he's just 4-for-29 to begin May and it's possible he and Bethancourt could be used in a more even timeshare moving forward.

Pierzynski is out of the lineup Sunday against the Nationals. Pierzynski is starting to lose steam from his hot start to the season, and Christian Bethancourt is beginning to take back starts as a result. A 1-for-12 showing over his last four games has dropped Pierzynski's batting average to .323, and it should only plunge further from here. Those who rostered him after the impressive early-season production should begin to explore other options at catcher.

Pierzynski is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Nationals, David O'Brien of the Atkabta Journal-Constitution reports. Pierzynski hasn't seen that many games as a regular for the Braves, starting 17 out of 29 games for them despite raking with a .323/.356/.508 slash line. Defensive specialist Christian Bethancourt will get the start instead against Doug Fister.
