Is there a guy on the waiver wire you want but you don't have the top waiver priority spot? Want to know how to fix that? It is simple, just make sure you have the 7th spot in the priority line and you will get the guy you want.
Apparently, having the number 1 position on the waiver wire guarantees that you are the first person who DOES NOT get the guy you put the claim in for. I had the number one spot, yet the number 7 guy got the player I put a waiver claim in for. Hooray for Fleaflicker!!!
Can you let me know what league this happened in (a link would be fine). Thanks. Also, what player were you trying to claim and when if you can remember this. If not, don't worry - I'll do my best to figure it out.
This has happened to other people in other leagues I have been in as well. It has happened to me probably 4-5 times over the past couple of years, but I don't do too many waiver claims so the actual percentage of my claims that end up like this is pretty high.
In a football league last year there was a case where a person who had the 2nd or 3rd waiver position put in a few waiver claims and was out waivered by the same person on 2 of those claims and by someone with a lower priority than him on another claim. The first guy only got his 4th pick, while he lost out on the top 3, despite having a higher priority on the list.
Go kick the programmers in the pants for not being able to make a working waiver wire. It works some times, but others it doesn't. I don't even know how many times I have put in a claim that never processed and I just picked the guy up from the free agent pool after going unclaimed.
Cool. I know I probably won't get the guy now because that will probably cause another hissy fit in that league (although I should get him because I did have the number 1 waiver spot after all and I wouldn't complain if it were changed), but the issue as a whole really needs to be looked at. There have been so many problems with the waiver system in leagues that I have been in that fixing the waiver system should be a priority.
