The Cowboys will release Carroll (concussion) on Wednesday, David Moore of The Dallas Morning News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Dallas signed Carroll to a three-year, $10 million contract in March and earmarked him for a starting role, but he appeared in just two games before missing the last three contests with a concussion. In Carroll's absence, rookie Jourdan Lewis has stepped up to deliver quality production in a starting role, and has generated 19 tackles, five pass deflections and an interception over four appearances. With Lewis in the fold and promising second-round rookie Chidobe Awuzie also healthy after having missed time with a hamstring injury, it appears there wouldn't have been a sizable role waiting for Carroll upon his return from the concussion. The Cowboys will still be the hook for the $4 million guaranteed in Carroll's contract as the veteran cornerback returns to the free-agent pool.

Carroll (concussion) is officially inactive for Sunday's game against the Packers, David Helman of the Cowboys' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Carroll was designated questionable after being a full participant in practice this week, but questions remained on whether he had fully cleared the league's concussion protocol. The 31-year-old will miss his second consecutive game, with Bene Benwikere and Orlando Scandrick likely to see increased workloads in his absence.

Carroll (concussion) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Packers, Michael Cohen of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Carroll was a full participant at practice this week, but there remains no official word on if he fully cleared the league's concussion protocol. If cleared, the 31-year-old should be expected to play, but at this point it still remains a question mark.

Carroll (concussion) logged a full workload for the second consecutive practice Wednesday, Michael Cohen of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
All signs indicate that Carroll has been cleared from the team's concussion protocol and looks to be on track for Sunday's matchup against the Packers. If he suffers any setbacks, look for both Bene Benwikereand and Orlando Scandrick to see increased workloads.

Carroll (concussion) was a full participant at the Cowboys' practice Wednesday, David Helman of the Cowboys' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Carroll has missed the last two games after sustaining the concussion Week 3. It's certainly a step in the right direction for the 30-year-old, but Clarence E. Hill Jr. of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram indicates Carroll has yet to fully clear the league's concussion protocol, and his status for Sunday's game against the Packers remains uncertain.

Carroll (concussion) is questionable to play Sunday against the Rams.
EDGE Analysis
It isn't clear if Carroll has cleared concussion protocol yet. Given his questionable tag, he presumably hasn't. That means he'll need to gain clearance from both the team and an independent neurologist prior to Sunday's 1:00 ET kickoff in order to play.

Carroll (concussion) has been ruled out for Monday's contest, David Helman of the team's official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Carroll has yet to clear through the league's concussion protocol and will subsequently be forced to miss Monday's game. Given the nature of head injuries, it's unclear for how long Carroll will be sidelined. Jourdan Lewis figures to be the primary beneficiary during his absence.

Carroll remains in the NFL's concussion protocol and appears unlikely to practice Thursday, Drew Davison of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
EDGE Analysis
If Carroll is in fact sidelined for the Cowboys' first practice session of the week, it wouldn't bode well for his chances of suiting up in the team's Week 3 matchup with the Cardinals on Monday night. While the Cardinals' passing attack has been far from potent this season, the potential absence of a starting cornerback in Carroll would nonetheless be significant blow for a Cowboys secondary that was shredded for 232 yards and four touchdowns by the Broncos' Trevor Siemian in Week 2. On a more positive note, Cowboys coach Jason Garrett relayed that Orlando Scandrick (hand), the team's other starting corner, is slated to practice Thursday, according to Jon Machota of The Dallas Morning News.

Carroll (concussion) is currently considered day-to-day after suffering a concussion against the Broncos on Sunday, Jon Machota of The Dallas Morning News reports.
EDGE Analysis
The day-to-day designation came from head coach Jason Garrett, but considering that Carroll is dealing with a concussion, it's impossible to truly gauge until he actually clears the concussion protocol. Chidobe Awuzie (hamstring) is also day-to-day, and the Cowboys' are potentially looking at some serious depth issues at cornerback.
