Dickson signed a four-year, $14.5 million contract extension with the Seahawks on Friday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Dickson will receive a hefty raise and will be under contract with Seattle through the 2025 campaign. He averaged a career-high 49.6 yards per punt last year and landed 52 percent of his punts inside the 20-yard line.

Dickson averaged 49.6 yards per punt and landed 32 of 61 boots (52 percent) inside the 20-yard line over 16 games during the 2020 season.
EDGE Analysis
Dickson set career highs in both categories, but he finished with the fewest number of kicks in his career. The Australian kicker fell short of All-Pro honors this season. The 25-year-old continues to be one of the most effective punters in the league, and he'll be back for the final year of his rookie contract in 2021.

Dickson averaged 45.1 yards per punt and landed 34 punts inside the 20-yard line in 2019.
EDGE Analysis
It was going to tough for Dickson to follow up his All-Pro rookie season where he recorded 48.2 yards per punt -- second in the league -- but he landed more punts inside the 20 than he did in 2018 (28). In fact, his mark 34 this season ranked third in the league. The Australian punter is locked into a starting role again in 2020.

Dickson was named the Seahawks' starting punter after Jon Ryan was released Monday, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
When a punter is drafted in the fifth round (No. 149 overall), it becomes his job to lose. Dickson didn't flinch, as he averaged 51.7 yards over six punts and pinned two inside the 20, compared to Ryan's stat line of 45.6 and one, respectively. Part of the punting job in Seattle is holding for the kicker, and Sebastian Janikowski won that job over Jason Myers on Monday.

The Seahawks selected Dickson in the fifth round of the 2018 NFL Draft, 149th overall.
EDGE Analysis
It might seem odd for a punter to get drafted, let alone get drafted inside the top 150. Dickson is not like most punters, however. He has a remarkably strong leg having averaged 47.43 yards per punt, but it's his ability to pin the opposition deep in their own territory that's particularly impressive. 41 of his 84 punts in 2017 landed inside the opponent's 20-yard line and he had just eight touchbacks. His arrival in Seattle likely spells the end of Jon Ryan's run with the Seahawks.
