Bengals signed OLB Michael Boley. Boley will add veteran depth to a Bengals linebacker corps that's been depleted by injuries. He had 92 tackles and three interceptions in 16 games (11 starts) for the Giants in 2012, but went unsigned this offseason due to off-field issues.

The Bengals are working out free agent OLB Michael Boley. It's Boley's first know workout since he was charged with child abuse in the offseason. Boley appeared in all 16 games (11 starts) for the Giants last season, tallying 92 tackles and three interceptions. He'd be an experienced depth signing for a Bengals linebacker corps that's been bitten by the injury bug.

Following news of his "secret arrest" in February on child abuse charges, the Giants seem "very unlikely" to re-sign free agent OLB Michael Boley. As recently as last week, Newsday's Tom Rock and Newark Star-Ledger's Jenny Vrentas were in agreement that the Giants hadn't "completely closed the door" on bringing Boley back. Boley, 32 in August, is now facing a likely suspension.

Free agent LB Michael Boley was arrested as part of a plea deal in February for felony child abuse in Alabama. The allegations are of a physical nature -- not sexual. Per PFT, the booking information in his case notes that it is a felony for any adult to "torture, willfully abuse, cruelly beat or otherwise willfully maltreat any child under the age of 18 years" in the adult's care. The Giants say the arrest had nothing to do with Boley's release, which occurred three days prior. The eight-year veteran has attracted zero interest on the open market since getting cut. He was suspended for the first game of the 2009 season after a 2008 arrest for domestic violence charges. It's hard to see Boley finding a job now as a possible suspension looms.

Newsday's Tom Rock gets the sense the Giants "haven't completely closed the door" on re-signing free agent WLB Michael Boley. The Newark Star-Ledger's Jenny Vrentas has the same feeling. Boley, 31 in August, was released by the Giants in a salary cap move in February, and he hasn't drawn an ounce of known interest since. He could be back at the minimum if the Giants don't come away with a linebacker in the draft.

Giants released WLB Michael Boley. Boley's name had been mentioned as a possible release candidate since the season ended, but this wasn't a lock to happen. Set to earn a $4.25 million salary in 2013, the move saves the Giants $3.1 million in cap space. Boley was benched for the final three games of the season in favor of Spencer Paysinger and Jacquian Williams. Prior to Week 15, he played in 92 percent of the defensive snaps, but he struggled against both the pass and the run. New York is aiming to get younger all around in 2013. Boley will turn 31 in August.

According to ESPN New York, it "remains to be seen" what the Giants will do with WLB Michael Boley. Due $4.25 million in 2013, Boley was benched for the final three games of the season, playing just 73 snaps after Week 14. The G-Men will surely ask Boley to slash his salary, but the soon-to-be 31-year-old veteran may be better off refusing and earning his release so he can test the open market. Either way, Boley is unlikely to enter 2013 with a starting job.

Giants WLB Michael Boley has seen his playing time cut dramatically over the past two weeks. Boley played just 49 percent of the defensive snaps in Week 15 before playing just 25 percent of the snaps last week against the Ravens. Boley has dealt with various minor injury issues this season, but head coach Tom Coughlin says "it was not necessarily a health thing." Prior to Week 15, Boley had played in 92 percent of the defensive snaps for the season. He's fallen behind Jacquian Williams and Spencer Paysinger on the outside. Boley, 30, has one year and $4.25 million left on a five-year, $25 million contract. He's a candidate for offseason release.

Giants LB Michael Boley (hamstring) expects to play Sunday despite being listed as questionable. It's an upgrade for the Giants' pass defense, as Boley already has three interceptions this season. Antrel Rolle (knee), CB Corey Webster (hand/hamstring) and RG Chris Snee (hip) are also listed as questionable and tentatively expected to play in Week 5 against the Browns.

Giants LB Michael Boley expects to start in Sunday's game against the Buccaneers. Boley has been dealing with a hamstring injury since the preseason. Last week, Keith Rivers started in place of Boley, but Rivers now has a hamstring issue of his own and is listed as doubtful. There's no IDP value in the Giants LBs. Last week they used six different LBs with none of them playing an every-down role. It's best to avoid this situation altogether.
