Miami released Core (undisclosed) with a non-football injury designation Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
The contract Core signed with the Dolphins back in January didn't last even six months, and he'll now be forced to look for another opportunity elsewhere. He hasn't seen game action since 2019, so he's very unlikely to be fantasy-relevant this season regardless of where he might end up.

The Dolphins signed Core to a reserve/future contract Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
The wide receiver will be back in Miami in 2022 after spending the latter part of the 2021 season on the team's practice squad. Core last appeared in the NFL in 2019, playing in 16 games with the Giants while mostly operating as a special-teams option.

The Dolphins signed Core to their practice squad Monday, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports.
EDGE Analysis
Core tried out with the 49ers a few weeks ago and now he'll have the chance to be on a practice roster, though it remains to be seen if he'll have the opportunity to play an NFL snap before the current season comes to a close. He hasn't played in the league since 2019, when he registered three catches for 28 yards while playing 16 games for the Giants.

Core (Achilles) tried out with the 49ers on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports.
EDGE Analysis
Core tore his Achilles in August of 2020, and it appears he's back to full health. The 27-year-old wideout didn't offer much offensive upside through his first four NFL seasons before the injury, so fantasy managers don't need to keep tabs on him moving forward.

The Giants cut Core (Achilles) on Monday, Ralph Vacchiano of SportsNet New York reports.
EDGE Analysis
Core's departure will clear up $2 million in cap space for New York next season. The special-teams ace and depth wideout suffered a torn Achilles' tendon during practice last August, from which he's still recovering as the move was designated as a failed physical, per Paul Schwartz of the New York Post.

The Giants shifted Core (Achilles) to injured reserve Wednesday
EDGE Analysis
After it was reported earlier Wednesday that Core likely suffered a torn Achilles in Tuesday's practice, this news isn't a great sign. Core was expected to provide depth at the receiver position while seeing most of his playing time on special teams heading into the 2020 season. The receiver will stay on the Giants' roster barring an injury settlement.

Core is believed to have suffered an Achilles tear during Tuesday's practice, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
After signing a two-year contract in the offseason, Core was expected to see most of his playing time on special teams while also providing depth at wide receiver. His anticipated absence gives Corey Coleman a better shot at the No. 4 receiver job in New York.

The Giants and Core agreed to terms on a contract Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
The special teams ace suited up in 283 snaps in that category of 2019, hauling in just three passes for 28 yards across 16 games. Core will return to a new head coach, but the same special-teams coach, meaning he'll likely return to his usual role with limited offensive potential in 2020.

Core secured three of five targets for 28 yards across 16 contests in 2019.
EDGE Analysis
Core did most of his damage on special teams in 2019, as per usual. Coming off the final year of his rookie contract, it remains to be seen if the Giants will opt to bring Core back for 2020.

Core didn't receive a target in Monday's 37-18 loss to the Cowboys.
EDGE Analysis
Core endured a seventh straight week without a target, and he's logged just eight offensive snaps over the last four games. Even with Sterling Shepard (concussion) on the mend, Core's value remains on special teams.
