Canty will not have his 2016 contract option picked up, making him a free agent.
EDGE Analysis
The Ravens save $2 million in salary cap space by letting Canty walk. The 11 year veteran notched 19 tackles and one sack in nine games last season. According to an interview with PFT Live, Canty assured that he still wants to play next season, as he'll look to join a team in need of defensive line depth.

Canty has signed a two-year deal to return to the Ravens, ESPN.com reports.
With Haloti Ngata having been traded, and Lawrence Guy a free agent, bringing back Canty -- who the Ravens had released last month for salary cap reasons -- provides the team's defensive line with some much-needed depth and experience. The 32-year-old Canty is coming of a 2014 season in which he recorded 33 tackles and a forced fumble in 11 games.

Canty was released by the Ravens on Friday, Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun reports.
Canty's contract wasn't all that unreasonable, but he's not much more than a solid veteran, and the Ravens have some interesting young talent on the defensive line. Assuming the 10-year veteran doesn't re-sign with Baltimore, his absence should clear the way for Timmy Jernigan to join the starting lineup in 2015. With just 21.5 sacks in his 10 NFL seasons, Canty has never been much of an IDP producer.

Canty (knee) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Panthers, the Baltimore Sun reports.
The report suggest that Canty is viewed as a game-time decision and if he is unable to suit up Sunday, then DeAngelo Tyson would be in line to take his place in the Ravens' Week 4 lineup.

Canty (leg) had calf cramps during Sunday's 23-21 win over the Browns, Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun reports.
Canty left in the second half with an apparent leg injury, but he said after the game that he was merely dealing with cramps. Assuming it really was nothing more than cramps, he should be a full participant in practice come Wednesday.
