Wright experienced pain in his left shoulder or upper back during Friday's appearance and could be headed to the disabled list, MASN Sports reports. Wright described the pain as a sharp soreness after allowing a run on two hits Friday and will likely be examined before Saturday's game. The Orioles may be due to activate David Lough from the disabled list, so from that standpoint the roster move would make sense.

Wright allowed two hits and struck out one in a scoreless inning in Tuesday's Grapefruit League game and he remains a candidate for a rotation spot. The Orioles have been tied to trade talks involving Brian Matusz, according to MASN Sports. That could open up a spot for Wright to serve in middle relief. If Matusz remains with the Orioles, there is a good chance Wright begins the season in the minors.

He's now slated to head back to the AL next season, but Wright will likely be nothing more than a middle-inning option for Baltimore.
