Nationals optioned 1B Tyler Moore to Triple-A Syracuse. Moore hit .200/.273/.433 in 30 at-bats with the Nats. The team optioned him to make room for Doug Fister on the active roster.

Tyler Moore went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and two runs scored on Friday against the Phillies. It was his second home run of the season. Moore is quite strikeout prone, but he could see at-bats against southpaws while Bryce Harper (thumb) is on the disabled list. Still, that doesn't leave much room for fantasy value, even in NL-only leagues.

Tyler Moore went 3-for-5 and hit his first homer Monday against the Marlins. Moore was getting a start at first base in place of Adam LaRoche tonight. That won't happen very frequently, but maybe the Nationals will give him a couple of starts in left while the outfield is banged up. That would give him a little short-term value in NL-only leagues, but probably only a little.

Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports believes that the Astros could have interest in acquiring Tyler Moore from the Nationals. The 26-year-old appeared in 63 games with the Nats in 2013, slashing a mere .222/.260/.347 with four homers and 21 RBI. He has familiarity with Astros skipper Bo Porter from his time in Washington however, and the ability to play first base as well as either corner outfield position.
