Greene has signed a minor league contract with the Phillies, Jayson Stark of ESPN.com reports. Greene, a first-round pick by the Cardinals in 2005, spent the entire 2014 season at the Triple-A level, slashing .298/.345/.446 with 10 homers and 63 RBI in 126 games. The 31-year-old can play both middle infield positions as well as the outfield, but he's just a .224/.289/.356 career hitter at the major league level (746 plate appearances) and will likely play out most, if not all, of the year as organizational depth in the minors.
