Tolleson notched his eighth save by throwing a perfect ninth inning in Friday's 4-2 victory over the Angels. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
After a blown save in his second opportunity of the season back on April 6, Tolleson has successfully slammed the door in the final frame on seven striaght occasions. His one missed opportunity-- when Tolleson failed to record an out while surrendering five earned runs-- is responsible for the 28-year-old's still-bloated 6.00 ERA. However, he's clearly gotten his feet back under him, with the fourth-year closer having given up only a single earned run over the eight innings since.

Tolleson pitched around a single for a scoreless ninth and his seventh save of the year Wednesday against the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
The ratios are still ugly thanks to his April 6 implosion against Seattle, but Tolleson improves upon them every time out. His job looks secure and his numbers should ultimately end up right around where they have over the last two seasons -- an ERA under 3.00 and a WHIP in the 1.10-1.20 range.

Tolleson allowed one hit, but still nailed down a 7-4 victory to record his sixth save of the season Thursday against Houston.
EDGE Analysis
He made quick work of the Astros four hitters, retiring them in 14 pitches, including 11 strikes. Tolleson induced two ground outs and struck out a batter. He is 6-for-7 in save situations, but unfortunately, in the one blown save, he allowed five runs and didn't record an out. That's why his ERA sits at 7.71.

Tolleson worked around a hit in a scoreless ninth inning Wednesday against the Astros for his fifth save of the year.
EDGE Analysis
He's only recorded a strikeout in three of his eight appearances and owns hideous ratios thanks to his five-run April 6 implosion, but Tolleson also has converted five of six save chances successfully. He'll get those numbers straightened out over time.

Tolleson allowed a run on a walk and no hits but still picked up the save Tuesday against the Astros, his fourth of the season.
EDGE Analysis
Tolleson walked Colby Rasmus, who stole second and later scored on a groundout. Tolleson's ERA is ugly at 10.80, but five of the six runs he allowed came in the same outing, a five-run disaster on April 6. This is the first run he has allowed since, a meaningless manufactured run in a game where his Rangers had a three-run league. Tolleson has four strikeouts against just one walk thus far.

Tolleson earned his second save with one scoreless inning while allowing one hit Saturday at the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
Tolleson got back on track in his first save opportunity after allowing five runs without recording an out earlier in the week. It'll take him a while to chip away at his 3.50 WHIP and 22.50 ERA that he now has, but it appears that, at least for the moment, his hold on the closer role is safe.

Tolleson blew the save in spectacular fashion Wednesday, allowing five runs on five hits while failing to retire a batter.
EDGE Analysis
Tolleson figures to have a shorter leash than most closers given his relative inexperience in the role and the depth in the Texas bullpen, so he'll need to rebound quickly from this. Sam Dyson or Jake Diekman would figure to head the list of replacements.

Tolleson struck out two of the three batters he faced Monday afternoon to lock down the save against the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
Tolleson was a force in the Ranger bullpen a season ago, registering a 2.99 ERA while converting 35 of his 37 opportunities. He'll maintain the closer role this year unless his performance dictates otherwise.

Tolleson, limited by a back injury to start the spring, has been able to throw as scheduled over the past two weeks.
EDGE Analysis
Tolleson is expected to make at least one more appearance over the weekend as a final preparation for the season opener Monday. He'll begin the year as Texas' closer, but manager Jeff Bannister was quick to remove Tolleson from that role in the postseason in favor of Sam Dyson so the leash figures to be a bit shorter here than with more established closers.

Tolleson walked three of his six batters Sunday, retiring just two.
EDGE Analysis
Tolleson had an effective inning in his spring debut earlier in the week but struggles with his command in his second appearance. He's expected to start the season as Texas' closer, but Sam Dyson looms in the shadows on the heels of an effective October should Tolleson struggle.
