Robinson was reassigned to the Angels' minor-league camp Monday.

Robinson held down a reserve role in the outfield for the Angels for a good chunk of 2016, but delivered a lowly .257 on-base percentage in 111 plate appearances. With the team adding Ben Revere on a one-year deal in the offseason, Robinson never had a great chance of winning an Opening Day gig with the Angels, so he'll be forced to bide his time at Triple-A Salt Lake and wait for an injury to open up an opportunity.

Robinson signed a minor league contract with the Angels on Tuesday, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports.

Robinson was DFA'd earlier in November, but the Angels saw enough in his defensive versatility to bring him back into the organization. That being said, the 32-year-old will likely act as organizational depth until his bat translates to the major league level.

Robinson's frustrating season hit another bump in the road Saturday as he's destined for the DL for the second time in the last two months. The Angels selected outfielder Nick Buss' contract to take Robinson's spot on the active roster.
