Twins optioned LHP Scott Diamond to Triple-A Rochester. It's about time. Diamond was likely given some extra leash after what he did last season, but he has been a complete mess since offseason elbow surgery, posting a 5.52 ERA over 19 starts this year. The southpaw will attempt to get back on track in the minors.

Scott Diamond was tagged for seven runs (six earned) over five innings in a loss to the Royals on Thursday. Ugly. Diamond gave up nine hits and three walks (one intentional) while striking out only one batter. This is the fifth time he has allowed six earned runs in a start this season, increasing his ERA to an obscene 5.52. He shouldn't be anywhere near your fantasy roster.

Scott Diamond allowed six runs -- five earned -- on seven hits over 4 2/3 innings Sunday as the Twins fell to the Indians. He struck out none and walked three. Diamond may have frustrated Minnesota for the last time in awhile this afternoon, as former Twins manager Tom Kelly openly questioned Diamond's status in the starting rotation on the telecast. The minors or the bullpen may be next for the Canadian, who fell to 5-9 with a 5.53 ERA.

Scott Diamond tossed 3 1/3 scoreless innings Friday against the Yankees before leaving after a rain delay. Diamond gave up just one hit, but walked three batters and threw just 37 out of 65 pitches for strikes. Ryan Pressly replaced him when play resumed, but he probably wasn't going to last much longer in this one even if there wasn't a rain delay. After posting a 3.54 ERA through 27 starts last season, Diamond will head into the All-Star break with a 5.32 ERA and 1.52 WHIP through 17 starts this year.

Scott Diamond was doomed by a rough fifth inning in Sunday's loss to the Blue Jays, allowing six runs on eight hits and four walks over five innings. Diamond wasn't sharp throughout the afternoon, but the house of cards finally collapsed during a four-run fifth inning which included a solo home run off the bat of Jose Reyes and Rajai Davis' three-run bomb. Diamond struck out just one and surrendered three long flies. The left-hander has allowed four runs or more in five of his last six starts. Ignore Diamond (5-8, 5.52 ERA) in all formats at this point.

Scott Diamond allowed four earned runs in five innings Wednesday as the Twins fell to the Marlins. Diamond has allowed four runs in each of his last three starts and he yielded seven runs on June 9 against the Nationals. The left-hander has a 5.40 ERA and 1.50 WHIP in 76 2/3 innings this season. He's not a fantasy guy.

Scott Diamond gave up four runs -- three earned -- in 5 1/3 innings Thursday in a win over the White Sox. Diamond gave up seven hits (including two homers) while walking one and fanning a pair. While he got the win, he has failed to complete six innings in seven out of his last eight outings. He's not an option outside of deeper AL-only leagues.

One bad inning doomed Scott Diamond in Friday's loss to the Tigers, where he allowed four runs on five hits over his 5 2/3 innings. Diamond walked two and struck out one on the evening. He was locked in a pitcher's duel with Rick Porcello for most of the evening, until the Tigers broke free for four runs on three consecutive RBI doubles in the sixth inning. Diamond will carry a 4-6 record, 5.29 ERA and 1.49 WHIP into his next start against the White Sox at home on Thursday.

Scott Diamond was rocked by the Nationals Sunday, getting charged with seven runs -- six earned -- on 10 hits and two walks over just 4 2/3 frames. It's arguably the worst start of the season from the southpaw. Diamond is still throwing strikes and is getting grounders at a pretty good clip, but his command hasn't been nearly as good as it was last year, and it's resulted in some ugly lines. He'll take a 5.19 ERA and 1.52 WHIP into a tough matchup against the Tigers next weekend.

Scott Diamond had one of his best starts of the season Sunday, spinning sit shutout innings in a 10-0 win over the Mariners. The southpaw permitted just four hits, walked one and struck out three. It was quite a beatdown that the Twins laid on the M's, as they gathered 16 hits -- including four homers -- and 10 runs, while Seattle had just four singles all day. Diamond had pitched poorly each of the last four times out, so it was a much-needed step in the right direction for the lefty. He faces the Nationals next.
