Ryan Madson Unavailable Out Of Dodgers Bullpen rotoballer.com Sun 10/28/18 9:14 PM

Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that relief pitcher Ryan Madson is unavailable to pitch in Game 5 of the World Series against the Red Sox on Sunday. Relievers Pedro Baez and Julio Urias will both be available. Madson has pitched in all four games of the World Series so far, so it's understandable that he'd be unavailable. He's gone just 2 1/3 frames, allowing three hits (one homer) and an earned run while walking two and fanning two.

Ryan Madson Makes Roster Over Ross Stripling rotoballer.com Thu 10/4/18 1:46 PM

Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Ross Stripling was left off the roster for the National League Division Series against the Braves in favor of relief pitcher Ryan Madson. Stripling was injured late in the year and was not the same pitcher he was early in the season when he made the All-Star team. Overall, Stripling was 8-6 with a 3.02 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and career-high 10.0 K/9 in 33 outings (21 starts).

Champ or Chump: Josh Donaldson and Andrew McCutchen rotoballer.com Mon 9/3/18 3:55 AM

The August waiver deadline has come and gone, leaving several brand name players with new home addresses. Gio Gonzalez joins Milwaukee's rotation even though the team already had plenty of bad pitchers. He's a total random number generator who might ruin your team's WHIP by walking six in three innings or your ERA by allowing four homers in five. Either way, you don't want him for Miller Park starts. Ryan Madson will try to bring stability to Los Angeles's bullpen, but he needs to prove that [...]

Dodgers Trade For Ryan Madson rotoballer.com Fri 8/31/18 10:12 AM

The Los Angeles Dodgers are acquiring relief pitcher Ryan Madson from the Washington Nationals on Friday, according to a source. It's unknown what the Dodgers are sending to the Nationals. Madson hasn't been all that effective this year in D.C. (5.28 ERA, 1.42 [...]

Week 23 MLB Closers and Saves Report rotoballer.com Fri 8/31/18 3:45 AM

This week was another interesting one in the bullpens around the league. The Phillies continued to be unpredictable, the Nationals continued to struggle to end games with a lead, and the Twins seem to have finally settled on a ninth-inning arm. Meanwhile, formerly elite closers are struggling in Cleveland and Los Angeles, but only one is in danger of losing his job (if he hasn't already.) The bullpen in San Francisco seems to be sticking to what's been working, but there was a little cause fo[...]

Dodgers Put Claim On Ryan Madson rotoballer.com Wed 8/29/18 3:22 PM

Updating a previous report, the Los Angeles Dodgers are the team that have put in a claim on Washington Nationals relief pitcher Ryan Madson on [...]

Ryan Madson Claimed On Waivers rotoballer.com Wed 8/29/18 3:03 PM

Washington Nationals relief pitcher Ryan Madson has been claimed on revocable trade waivers by an unknown team, according to sources. That means that the claiming team has a few days to work out a trade for Madson. The 38-year-old veteran recently came off the disabled list and hasn't been all that good for the Nats this year with a 5.28 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 8.3 K/9 over 44 1/3 innings. He wouldn't suddenly become attractive with a move to a better team.

Kelvin Herrera Done For Season, Ryan Madson Back From DL rotoballer.com Mon 8/27/18 1:10 PM

Washington Nationals relief pitcher Kelvin Herrera (foot) has suffered a torn Lisfranc ligament in his left foot and will miss the rest of the season. Reliever Ryan Madson (back) has been activated from the disabled list and should be the favorite for saves once again until closer Sean Doolittle (foot) returns from the DL. Madson could share save chances with Koda Glover, but you should consider adding Madson if you need saves.
