Ryan Doumit went 3-for-4, providing half of the Twins total hits in a loss to Derek Lowe and the Indians on Friday. Doumit has battled some nagging injuries over the past few weeks, but has provided solid production when in the lineup. He's now hitting .271 with five homers and 25 RBI on the season. His catcher eligibility makes him a must start in all leagues that employ two catchers, and in deeper single catcher formats.

Ryan Doumit (calf) will do some catching in the bullpen during Friday's game. Doumit was held out out off the starting lineup Thursday because of how his strained calf muscle responded after Wednesday's game, but Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said that he's feeling fine.

Ryan Doumit was held out of the Twins' lineup on Thursday because of how his strained right calf muscle responded after Wednesday night's game. "He felt it a little bit last night," said Twins manager Ron Gardenhire. "He's been legging out some doubles and we told him to take it nice and easy, but you know, once you get playing in a game and you see something, you're going to go for it. So he was little bit stiffer last night after the game. I backed him off today." Doumit has served as the DH twice since injuring the calf last Wednesday and will likely be evaluated on a day-to-day basis for now.

Ryan Doumit (calf) took early batting practice and is available to pinch-hit Friday against the Brewers. The Twins decided against placing Doumit on the disabled list, but he's expected to be limited to pinch-hitting duties this weekend after suffering a left calf strain on Wednesday. Look for him to return to the lineup when the Twins have the option of the DH again on Tuesday.

Ryan Doumit (calf) is expected only to be available as a pinch-hitter for the weekend series against the Brewers. Not surprising. It had looked like Doumit was headed for the disabled list, but the Twins have decided to hold off. He's not ready to start just yet but thinks he'll be available for DH duty starting next Tuesday. "Best-case scenario is ... I'll be ready to DH or do something like that [Tuesday], the first game in Chicago, so that's what I'm hoping for," Doumit said.

The Twins did not place Ryan Doumit on the 15-day disabled list. It was announced late Wednesday night that Doumit was being made inactive, but there was a change of plans Thursday morning. Nick Blackburn is going on the DL instead with a strained left quad. Doumit is day-to-day after suffering a left calf strain in Wednesday's defeat of the Tigers.

Ryan Doumit broke out with three hits and two solo homers in Sunday's loss to the Mariners. Doumit's jacks came after the Twins were already down 5-0, but it's at least some strong signs of life. He previously had just one homer on the season and came into today hitting .224. Doumit has shown the potential to be a 20-homer guy when healthy throughout his career.

Ryan Doumit went 0-for-4 on Friday, dropping his average to .230. Doumit's bat certainly isn't justifying his place in the lineup right now. The .230 average is actually the best part of his line; he has just one homer and two walks in 74 at-bats. If he can't turn it around, the Twins would be crazy to keep sacrificing defense in order to give him at-bats.

Ryan Doumit went 2-for-4 with a homer and four RBI in the Twins loss to the Yankees on Thursday. The two-run blast off of Phil Hughes in the sixth inning was his first of the season. Doumit got the start in right field tonight, where he may stand to see more at-bats against left handed pitching with the Twins recent demotion of Ben Revere.
