Braun (finger) is expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list when first eligible Aug. 10, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
He is on the IL with an infected right index finger. In the meantime, Logan Morrison and Ryon Healy have been getting extra starts at designated hitter. Upon Braun's activation, manager Craig Counsell said he will get some outfield starts as well, particularly after Lorenzo Cain opted out of the season.

Braun was placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday, retroactive to July 30, with an infected right index finger.
EDGE Analysis
It's unclear exactly how the issue occurred, but Braun will be sidelined for several games as a result. The 36-year-old had started in three of the Brewers' six games this season, going 3-for-13 with a double, two RBI and four strikeouts. In Braun's absence, Logan Morrison could see an uptick in playing time as the designated hitter. A timetable for Braun's return hasn't been announced.

Braun is not starting Wednesday against the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
Braun will sit out Wednesday's series finale after going 2-for-9 with a walk, a double and two RBI during the first two games of the set. In his place, Justin Smoak is serving as the DH while Logan Morrison is starting at first base.

Braun is not in Sunday's lineup against the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Braun went 0-for-3 on Opening Day and did not appear in Saturday's game after dealing with oblique, neck and back soreness toward the end of camp. Logan Morrison will start at designated hitter and bat fifth.

Braun isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Braun failed to record a hit in Friday's Opening Day contest as Kyle Hendricks was dominant, and the veteran will sit for the second game of the series. Christian Yelich will serve as the designated hitter Saturday with Ben Gamel starting in left field and batting eighth.

Braun (oblique/back/neck) will bat fifth and serve as the designated hitter in Friday's season opener against the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Braun battled several minor injuries throughout camp, hardly a new reality for the veteran. The universal designated hitter should help keep him in the lineup on a regular basis this season, though he'll likely play in the field at both first base and the outfield corners as well.

Manager Craig Counsell said that Braun (oblique/back/soreness) will serve as the Brewers' designated hitter Wednesday in the team's exhibition finale versus the White Sox, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Braun has been battling a number of minor injuries the past few days, with a sore left oblique being the most concerning of the lot. The rest seems to have proven beneficial for Braun, whose availability for Wednesday's contest has the veteran trending in a "positive direction" for Friday's Opening Day game against the Cubs, according to Counsell. The Brewers will presumably check in with Braun after the exhibition to see how he felt physically before locking in his status for the season opener.

Manager Craig Counsell said that Braun won't be available for Monday's intrasquad game while tending to left oblique, back and neck soreness, Sophia Minnaert of Fox Sports Wisconsin reports.
EDGE Analysis
Though Counsell provided more specificity regarding the nature of Braun's injuries, the skipper reiterated what he said Sunday about the veteran's status for Friday's season opener versus the Cubs being in jeopardy. In an effort to preserve Braun's health, the Brewers are expected to deploy the 36-year-old primarily as a designated hitter in 2020, so it's not the most encouraging sign that he's already hurting before the season has even gotten underway. Logan Morrison could be a candidate to see starts at DH if Braun is unavailable for the weekend series at Wrigley Field.

Braun (general soreness) is not playing in Sunday's intrasquad game, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. "I'm still confident he's going to be fine. But it's Sunday. We have three days of games left after today. He has to get on the field soon, yes," manager Craig Counsell said.
EDGE Analysis
Counsell isn't pointing to a specific issue for why Braun has not been active the last couple days, just normal aches and pains. If Braun is unavailable at the start of the campaign, Ben Gamel and Jedd Gyorko could be options to see extra playing time. Once healthy, Braun is expected to be the Brewers' primary designated hitter.

Braun could resume playing in the Brewers' intrasquad matchups Sunday, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Although Braun dealt with a minor shoulder injury during spring training, he appears to have fully recovered. Manager Craig Counsell said Friday that, "he's feeling good. He's been a little slowed by just the normal things, for him. Nothing of significance." The Brewers' starters are scheduled to have a day off Saturday, but Counsell was hopeful that the 36-year-old would be able to ramp up his activity Sunday as the team brings their veteran along slowly. Counsell sounded pleased with Braun's progress with Opening Day one week away.
