CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that the Cardinals are among the teams interested in Ronny Cedeno. It would be a pretty good landing spot from Cedeno's perspective, as the Cards have some uncertainty at second base and have an injury risk in Rafael Furcal at shortstop. Cedeno put up a decent .259/.332/.410 batting line over 78 games last season with the Mets but sports an uninspiring .247/.290/.357 slash over his career.

Ronny Cedeno (hamstring) popped out as a pinch-hitter in Monday's loss to the Phillies. It was Cedeno's first appearance in a game since last Wednesday due to right hamstring tightness. He should be fine moving forward.

Ronny Cedeno left Wednesday's game with a tight right hamstring. He's likely day-to-day. With Daniel Murphy nursing some back tightness, the Mets are running short on middle infielders. Neither injury is serious, though.

Ronny Cedeno drove in five runs with two doubles and a single versus the Giants on Thursday. It was Cedeno's second career five-RBI game, the first coming against the Mets four yeas ago. He entered the day with 12 RBI for the season. The Mets have been giving him one or maybe two starts per week now that they have their other infielders healthy.

Mets activated SS Ronny Cedeno from the 15-day disabled list. Cedeno has been limited to 25 games this season due to injury. He's starting at shortstop Friday and should be a regular there until Ruben Tejada returns.

Ronny Cedeno (calf) is expected to be activated from the disabled list Friday. Cedeno is closer to a return than Ruben Tejada (quad), who isn't expected to move his rehab assignment to Triple-A Buffalo until later this week. He'll presumably take the roster spot of Jordany Valdespin when healthy.

Mets manager Terry Collins said Monday that Ronny Cedeno (calf) will not be activated from the disabled list within the next couple of days. Cedeno is 2-for-15 (.133) in four rehab games between High-A St. Lucie and Triple-A Buffalo. The Mets could really use the middle infield depth, but they want him to get more playing time at the Triple-A level first.
