Ronald Belisario got five outs for a save against the Rockies on Wednesday. No word yet on why Kenley Jansen wasn't called on. He struggled in a mop-up situation last night, but he threw just 16 pitches. Belisario's save was his first of the year after 21 holds. He's been a big asset with his 2.75 ERA in 52 1/3 innings this season.

Ronald Belisario has posted a 1.25 ERA in 21 relief appearances since returning to the major leagues. Belisario was activated from the restricted list in early May after serving a 25-game suspension for violating MLB's drug policy, and he's been on a roll ever since. Entering Thursday, the righty had allowed just nine hits in 21 2/3 innings while tallying three wins and six holds.

Dodgers activated RHP Ronald Belisario from the restricted list. Belisario was eligible to return after serving a 25-game suspension for violating MLB's drug program. The 29-year-old right-hander missed all of last season after failing to obtain a work visa in his native Venezuela. Look for him in middle relief.

Ronald Belisario is eligible to be activated from the restricted list Friday, but it's not a sure thing that he will be. Belisario is serving a 25-game suspension for violating MLB's drug program. The Dodgers like him as a one-inning reliever, but right now they need someone that can go multiple innings. "He likes to let it fly for one inning," pitching coach Rick Honeycutt said. "When he's on, he can be dominant, but that's 20 pitches or less, and after that, his stuff changes." Belisario is out of options, so he'd have to pass through waivers if the Dodgers try to send him to the minors.

Dodgers reinstated RHP Ronald Belisario from the restricted list. Belisario missed all of the 2011 season while receiving treatment for a substance abuse problem. He's still required to serve a 25-game suspension this year but should be ready to join the Dodgers' bullpen soon after.

Ronald Belisario was sent to a local hospital Tuesday after being diagnosed with strep throat. The Dodgers will keep Belisario away from camp for the next couple of days to ensure that the strep doesn't spread. The 29-year-old right-hander has to serve a 25-game suspension when the regular season opens, so he's not in any hurry this spring.

Ronald Belisario said Wednesday that he previously tested positive for cocaine. Belisario wouldn't say when the test took place and said he only used the substance once. He received treatment for a substance abuse problem during the 2010 season, but he said Wednesday that it wasn't for cocaine. The 28-year-old right-hander missed the entire 2011 season and is still required to serve a 25-game suspension for a drug of abuse.

According to Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times, Ronald Belisario's 25-game suspension is for a drug of abuse. The specific drug is not known, but Belisario did miss more than a month during the 2010 season in order to receive treatment for a substance abuse problem. The 28-year-old right-hander recently received a visa in his native Venezuela after missing the entire 2011 season, but he will have to serve the suspension once the 2012 season begins.
