Ross gave up one earned run off two hits and one walk while striking out one in Friday's game against the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
Ross has appeared in six games this season, recording a 3.86 ERA and a 1.29 WHIP through 9.1 innings of work. He has done well to limit free passes for opposing batters, and can establish himself in the Red Sox bullpen if he can also limit the amount of hits that he gives up. After being sent down to Triple-A Pawtucket after 13 games in 2015, Ross answered the wake-up call and bounced back with a 3.31 ERA over Boston's last 41 games. The southpaw will need to improve upon earning clean innings out of the bullpen to become a mainstay with the team.

Ross entered Friday's 6-2 win over Houston in the ninth inning with a five-run lead but managed just two outs and was pulled after allowing a run with two runners on base.
EDGE Analysis
Boston manager John Farrell was forced to bring in Craig Kimbrel to close out the Astros. Ross has been used in a variety of roles since joining the Red Sox in 2015, but has been mostly a middle-relief guy that will often throw multiple innings in 2016. He's allowed 10 hits, two walks and four runs in 9.1 innings (3.86 ERA) while striking out eight.

Ross pitched two scoreless innings Monday, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out four against the Cardinals. The left-hander has struck out 10 batters in seven spring innings, but has also walked six.
EDGE Analysis
Ross, who ended last season as Boston's closer, is unlikely to get many save opportunities in 2016 as Boston addressed that position in the offseason when it acquired Craig Kimbrel. The Kentucky-native is expected to earn a roster spot when Boston heads north for the regular season, pitching in a middle-relief role.

Ross and the Red Sox settled on a $1.25 million deal Friday, avoiding arbitration, John Heyman of MLB Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
The lefty struggled at the start of 2015, posting a 6.17 ERA over his first 13 games leading to a couple of stints in Triple-A. It turned out to be a productive move for the Red Sox, as Ross closed out the remainder of the season with a 3.31 ERA over 41 games. Both parties are hoping he can ride this momentum into 2016 and remain an effective middle reliever.

Ross picked up his sixth save of the season in Sunday's win over Baltimore. He allowed a hit and struck out two in one inning.
EDGE Analysis
Ross has been serving as the team's de facto closer for the month of September and has converted all six chances. It hasn't always been pretty, but he's getting the job done.

Ross picked up his fifth save of the season, and third in three days, in Monday night's win over the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
Ross is emerging as the closer-of-choice out of the Boston bullpen, though he does make it interesting. In this three-game save run, Ross has allowed four hits, a walk, three runs, and two homers in 3.0 innings. Hardly sustainable, but Red Sox interim manager Torey Lovullo doesn't have many options.

Ross picked up his third save of the season, but gave up two runs on two hits and a walk in one inning in Saturday's win over the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
Ross is the closest thing the Red Sox have to a closer at this time -- all three of his saves have come in the last two weeks -- but he's been a streaky performer this season.

Ross picked up his second save of the season, allowing one hit and striking out one in the 13th inning of Sunday's win over the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
Boston doesn't have a closer at this time, but interim manager Torey Lovullo as a few guys, including Ross, he trusts with late-inning work. This was Ross' second save in the past 10 days.
