Wooten announced on his personal Twitter account Saturday that he will retire from the MLB.
EDGE Analysis
Wooten spent the majority of his career in the minors, pitching last season at the Double-A and Triple-A levels for the Reds, but he did crack the Brewers' active roster for parts of three different seasons from 2013-15. He finished his career with a 5.03 ERA, a 1.41 WHIP and 53 strikeouts over 68 innings in 71 appearances at the MLB level.

Wooten re-signed a minor-league contract with the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
Wooten accrued a disappointing 6.94 ERA across 23.1 innings at Triple-A Louisville in 2017. He will provide the Reds with Triple-A depth, and could surface once again in the major leagues with a productive year in 2018. The 32-year-old owns a 5.03 ERA across 68 innings at the big-league level.

Wooten was outrighted off the Brewers' 40-man roster Thursday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. The Brewers announced earlier in the day that Wooten would be optioned to Triple-A Colorado Springs, but it wasn't apparent until hours later that he had been outrighted off the 40-man roster. After being rocked for eight runs and posting a 6:6 K:BB ratio over six innings with the Brewers, the soft-tossing Wooten likely won't draw much interest from other teams via trade or waivers.

Wooten was optioned to Triple-A Colorado Springs on Thursday. After pitching 1.2 innings and giving up five runs in the Brewers' 14-4 loss to the Dodgers on Thursday, Wooten will be sent back down to the minors. Wooten was called up from Colorado Springs a few weeks ago, but was unable to make the most of his time in the majors, giving up a total of eight runs in six innings pitched. Brandon Kintzler will be recalled from Colorado Springs and take Wooten's spot in the bullpen.

Wooten was recalled from Triple-A Colorado Springs on Wednesday. Wooten has struggled to begin the season, allowing five runs on three home runs in 6.1 innings in Triple-A, but the stats can be skewed with the thinner air in Colorado Springs. He'll take Tyler Thornburg's spot in the Brewers' bullpen, though he'll likely be limited to low-leverage situations.

Wooten was optioned to Triple-A Colorado Springs on Tuesday, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. With Wooten out of the mix, Tyler Thornburg and Michael Blazek figure to occupy the final two spots in Milwaukee's bullpen. Wooten will likely be near the top of the list for potential call-ups, in the event the Brewers need another right-handed reliever.

Wooten was recalled from Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday. He will be available to pitch out of the Brewers' bullpen Wednesday, but even with Francisco Rodriguez's recent struggles, it's unlikely Wooten will be used in many high-leverage situations.

Wooten has been optioned to Triple-A Nashville. The move is not a surprise, as the Brewers simply wanted Wooten at their disposal until the need to fill Matt Garza's place in the rotation arose. Mike Fiers will be recalled from Nashville to start Saturday's game against the Dodgers.

Wooten has been called up from Triple-A Nashville, Andrew Gruman of Fox Sports Wisconsin reports. Wooten, who was sent down to Nashville on July 21, will return to fill the roster spot vacated by Matt Garza (oblique), who was placed on the DL on Tuesday. Wooten has split the season between the Brewers and Triple-A and holds a 1-4 record with a 4.36 ERA in 33.0 major league innings. It's unknown how long he'll remain with Milwaukee, as another move will likely be made when Garza's turn in the rotation comes up later in the week.
