Hill pitched six innings, surrendering three runs (one earned) on three hits and a walk while striking out six in Monday's win over the Rays. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Hill gave up a solo home run to Wander Franco in the top of the first inning before Manuel Margot took him deep for a two-run shot in the bottom of the fourth frame after an error extended the inning. The homers accounted for all the damage against him in the contest and the left-hander notched his second consecutive quality start. Hill will finish his season with a 4.27 ERA and 1.30 WHIP with 109 strikeouts over 124.1 frames in 26 starts.

Hill (8-7) earned the win Wednesday, allowing no runs on five hits and one walk with nine strikeouts over six innings against the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
The 42-year-old turned back the clock Wednesday as he fired six masterful innings. His nine punchouts were his second highest of the season, and the quality start his first since Aug. 27. The strong outing lowered Hill's ERA to 4.41 on the season, which would be his highest since 2013. He likely next lines up to face Tampa Bay next week.

Hill didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 5-4 loss to the Yankees, giving up four runs on five hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
The 42-year-old lefty lasted five innings for only the second time in five September outings, and he's coughed up at least four runs in four of those. Hill's 6.75 ERA and 1.72 WHIP on the month suggest he has very little left in the tank right now, and if he does return for a 19th MLB campaign in 2023, it seems highly unlikely he'll be asked to fill a traditional starting role.

Hill (7-7) took the loss against the Royals on Saturday, allowing four runs on eight hits while striking out four and walking none over 4.2 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Hill had a rough day on the mound, tossing 58 of 81 pitches for strikes across 4.2 frames and allowing four runs to score, all of which came via RBI singles or doubles. This has been a tough month for the veteran, who has allowed 13 earned runs across 17.2 innings for a 6.62 ERA. Saturday's outing raised his season ERA to 4.70.

Hill (7-6) allowed two hits and three walks over five innings Sunday, striking out seven and earning a win over Baltimore.
EDGE Analysis
Hill let just one Oriole reach scoring position during his dominant victory. Since his last win Aug. 27, the veteran southpaw was tagged with nine runs over eight frames in two appearances. He lowered his ERA to 4.56 alongside an 86:33 K:BB across 22 starts this season. Hill is expected to face the Royals at home next week.

Hill (6-6) took the loss Tuesday in Tampa Bay, allowing five runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out three in four innings.
EDGE Analysis
Randy Arozarena deposited an 0-2 pitch into the seats for a three-run homer in the first inning against Hill to get the scoring started for the Rays. In the third, Harold Ramirez plated two runs with a single to put Tampa Bay up 5-2. Ten of the 20 batters Hill faced reached safely and the 42-year-old was removed after four innings with only 64 pitches thrown. He's allowed four runs or more in four of his last six starts and has a 6.33 ERA and 1.48 ERA in 27 innings in that span.

Hill pitched four-plus innings in a no-decision against Texas on Thursday. He allowed four runs on five hits and four walks while striking out two batters.
EDGE Analysis
Hill pitched his best game of the season his previous time out, striking out 11 batters over seven scoreless innings against Tampa Bay. He couldn't carry over that momentum, however, as he tied a season high with four walks and was lifted after allowing the first three batters he faced in the fifth frame to reach base. Hill hasn't had many big blowups this season, but he's allowed at least four runs in six of his 20 outings, leading to a mediocre 4.52 overall ERA. He no longer strikes out batters on a consistent basis, further dampening his value in fantasy.

Hill (6-5) earned the win Saturday, allowing zero runs on three hits and one walk over seven innings in a 5-1 win over the Rays. He struck out 11.
EDGE Analysis
Hill did not allow an extra-base hit in his outstanding performance against the Rays. The lefty has had a tough stretch following his return from a knee injury, recording a 7.50 ERA and allowing 16 hits over 12 innings in the three starts prior to this contest. The 42-year-old veteran currently has his highest ERA (4.32) since 2013 when he recorded a 6.28 ERA in 38.2 innings as a reliever.

Hill is scheduled to start Saturday's game against the Rays at Fenway Park, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Alex Cora had previously suggested that Hill could piggyback Brayan Bello in the latter's start Wednesday against the Blue Jays, but Hill may only be available in relief in an emergency now that he's been confirmed to make his next start this weekend. When he takes the mound Saturday, Hill will be pitching on nine days' rest after having made his previous start Aug. 17 in Pittsburgh.

Red Sox manager Alex Cora hinted that Hill will piggyback starter Brayan Bello in Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.
EDGE Analysis
Boston has already locked in Kutter Crawford and Michael Wacha to start Thursday's series finale and Friday's series opener versus Tampa Bay, respectively, so unless Hill is being pushed to the back of the pitching schedule, Wednesday marks the most logical day for him to get some innings. Bello likely won't be serving as a traditional opener after building up to 4.1 innings in his most recent rehab start, but Hill could still have better odds than usual of factoring into any decision even if he has a lighter workload than normal.
