Raul Ibanez hit two home runs and drove in six runs as the Mariners beat the Yankees 12-2 on Wednesday. Ibanez broke the game open with a grand slam in the first inning and added a two-run homer in the fifth. The outfielder now has four home runs in four games after hitting just two in his first 19 games. His platoon situation in Seattle and his decreased production doesn't make him an option outside of AL-only leagues, though.

Raul Ibanez singled and belted a two-run homer off of CC Sabathia in Tuesday's loss to the Yankees. Zero of Ibanez's 19 home runs last season came off of left-handed pitching, so, naturally, he took one of the best lefties in the game deep in this one. Though he's hitting just .211 for the season, Ibanez has a modest five-game hitting streak going and has homered in two of his last three starts.

Raul Ibanez hit a three-run homer off Dan Straily in the Mariners' victory Friday. Ibanez has just 12 hits in 64 at-bats, giving him a .188 average, but at least seven of those 12 hits have gone for extra bases. The Mariners will likely keep him around all year, but hopefully they won't have to give him quite so many starts as time goes by.

According to Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com, the Mariners have agreed to a one-year contract with free agent outfielder Raul Ibanez. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed. Ibanez, who hit .240/.308/.453 with 19 homers and 62 RBI for the Yankees in 2012, is likely to serve as the M's starting left fielder against right-handed pitching and a part-time DH. This will be his third tour of duty with Seattle, where he played from 1996-2000 and again from 2004-2008. He was originally drafted by the M's.

According to George A. King III of the New York Post, the Mariners have "serious interest'' in signing Raul Ibanez. The Yankees have also been talking with Ibanez, but have yet to make any progress on a deal. In Seattle, Ibanez would likely force Jesus Montero into a full-time role at catcher. The 40-year-old has also been linked to the Rangers and Phillies so far this offseason.

According to George A. King III of the New York Post, the Rangers have expressed interest in Raul Ibanez. The Yankees were originally considered the favorites to re-sign Ibanez, but they could decide to rotate at the DH position next year after agreeing to deals with Kevin Youkilis and Ichiro Suzuki. In addition to the Rangers, the Mariners have been linked as a landing spot for Ibanez, where he would serve in a platoon role with Jason Bay.

According to Geoff Baker of the Seattle Times, the Mariners have spoken to Raul Ibanez's agent. It would be Ibanez's third stint in Seattle if they wound up signing him. The 40-year-old slugged .492 against right-handed pitching in 2012 and probably piqued the interest of a few more clubs with his playoff exploits. The Yankees would like to bring him back.
