Ramon Hernandez is back in the Rockies' lineup Friday against the Brewers. Hernandez slightly injured his left hand on a swing Monday, but he should be good to go moving forward. The veteran backstop is hitting .267 (8-for-30) with two homers and six RBI over his first nine games this season.

Ramon Hernandez left Tuesday's game against the Padres after being hit on the side of his left knee with a pitch. He was immediately replaced by Wilin Rosario, but the early word is that he suffered just a bruise. Look for him to return to the lineup within the next couple of days.

Rockies signed C Ramon Hernandez to a two-year, $6.4 million contract. The deal was reached in November but took a few weeks to be finalized. Hernandez, 35, batted .283/.342/.451 for the Reds in 2011 and is expected to start at catcher in Colorado now that Chris Iannetta is out of the picture. He'll again make for a decent fantasy option.

The Rockies' new two-year deal with catcher Ramon Hernandez is worth a total of $6.4 million. Hernandez only has to pass a physical before the agreement can be finalized. He posted a decent .283/.342/.451 slash line this year for the Reds and should remain a productive offensive player for the next two seasons out in Colorado. The Rockies traded Chris Iannetta to the Angels in a corresponding move.

The Rockies are considering signing free agent catcher Ramon Hernandez, which could lead to a trade of Chris Iannetta to the Angels, according to FoxSports.com's Ken Rosenthal. The Angels also may be interested in Hernandez and have been linked to the Reds' Ryan Hanigan. Iannetta is signed for $3.55 million in 2012 while Hernandez made $3 million with Cincinnati in 2011. Hernandez is a Type B free agent. The 35-year-old backstop is coming off another solid year, hitting .283/.342/.451 with 12 homers in 293 at-bats, and figures to land a part-time role this offseason.

ESPN's Buster Olney speculates that the Angels could make a run at free agent Ramon Hernandez now that he's longer tied to first-round compensation. It was highly unlikely the Reds would have offered Hernandez arbitration under the old rules but he'll now be treated as a ''Type B'' for compensation purposes, which should make him more attractive to another team who may want him to sign. The 35-year-old backstop is coming off another solid season, hitting .283/.342/.451 with 12 homers in 293 at-bats, and figures to land a part-time role this offseason.

Ramon Hernandez was unavailable to play Saturday due to a bruised shin. Hernandez has a bruise and a knot on his left shin as a result of fouling a ball of the leg Friday. "It's all black and blue and yellow," Reds manager Dusty Baker said. Hernandez is considered day-to-day. With Ryan Hanigan also day-to-day with back spasms, Devin Mesoraco was the only healthy catcher Saturday.
