Klein signed a contract with the Yokohama BayStars of the Nippon Professional Baseball League, Corey Seidman of CSN Philadelphia reports.
EDGE Analysis
Klein will reportedly make $1.25 million with a chance for incentives. He was 0-1 with a 6.98 ERA and a 19:9 K:BB in 19.1 innings between the Phillies and the Rangers last season.

Klein was released by the Phillies on Wednesday to pursue an opportunity to play in a league in Asia.
EDGE Analysis
Klein possess a 5.50 ERA in 55.2 career MLB innings and likely wouldn't have been much of a factor in the Phillies' rotation for 2017. He'll head overseas to find a team with more of a use for him.

Klein allowed one run on four hits over four innings in a 5-3 loss to the Mets on Saturday. He struck out three and walked two.
EDGE Analysis
Klein got the start Saturday after the Phillies decided to shut Jake Thompson down for the season. He finishes the year 0-1 with a 6.98 ERA and a 19:9 K:BB in 19.1 innings between the Phillies and the Rangers.

Klein will start Saturday against the Mets, Matt Gelb of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander has mostly worked in bullpen mop-up duty this season. He's made just three appearances with the Phillies after being sent to them by Texas this summer. Daily fantasy players would be wise to stack Mets against the right-hander. Even if he can't last long, Philadelphia's bullpen (4.99 ERA this year) should ensure plenty of offensive opportunities for New York.

Klein (elbow) allowed three runs on two hits in a third of an inning in Sundays 17-0 loss to the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
This was Klein's first appearance since his recall this month. He had been sidelined with elbow soreness. The poor outing pushed his ERA up to 7.71.

Klein is dealing with elbow soreness, the News Journal's Meghan Montemurro reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Phillies called Klein up in September, and then he told them about the elbow soreness, which is why he has not made it into a game since the call-up. Even when healthy, Klein is a low-leverage relief arm that doesn't factor into the fantasy realm. It would not be surprising if he did not pitch again this season.

Klein was recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
The Phillies don't need another arm in the rotation, so Klein will presumably serve as a mop-up man out of the bullpen over the final three weeks. Klein has some eye-popping numbers with Lehigh Valley, posting a 1.52 ERA and 76:13 K:BB in 65.1 innings, working primarily as a starter. However, his 5.04 ERA in 50 big league innings over the course of his career is more indicative of what he's capable of against major league hitters.

Klein would be the likely choice to fill in for Adam Morgan if he is forced to miss a start after being hit on the forearm by a line drive Sunday, Matt Breen of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Phillies are expected to make a decision on Morgan's status on Monday. Klein is coming off back-to-back double digit strikeout performances at Triple-A Lehigh Valley. He pitched Sunday which aligns his schedule perfectly with Morgan's.

Klein was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley following Wednesday's spot start against the Giants, Jim Salisbury of CSN Philadelphia reports.
EDGE Analysis
Klein pitched decently well Wednesday, allowing four runs on eight hits and a walk while adding three strikeouts over five innings to receive a no-decision. The move opens up a roster spot for the return of Jeanmar Gomez from the paternity list Thursday.

Klein made his Phillies debut Wednesday, making a spot start for Aaron Nola (elbow) who was placed on the DL. He pitched five innings, allowing four runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out three Giants in a no-decision.
EDGE Analysis
Klein made the 2016 Opening Day roster for the Rangers, and made eight relief appearances in the first month of the season before being released. (He also made 28 appearances, including two starts for them in the previous two seasons.) He was claimed off waivers by the Phillies on June 19 and pitched in eight games for Triple-A Lehigh Valley prior to his call-up. As an IronPig, the 6-foot-7 right-hander made four starts (and four relief appearances), and posted a 2.13 ERA with 25 strikeouts over 25.1 innings. Klein's outing wasn't terrible -- he did throw 66 percent of his pitches for strikes -- but it remains to be seen if he'll continue to fill Nola's vacancy moving forward.
