Kozma signed a minor-league contract with the Tigers on Thursday, Chris Cotillo of SB Nation reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Didi Gregorious sidelined for the first month of the 2017 season, Kozma wound up breaking camp with the Yankees, though he went just 1-for-10 (.100) and was designated for assignment once Gregorious returned at the end of April. Kozma was subsequently scooped up by the Rangers, but he continued to struggle and was outrighted to Triple-A Round Rock before being released prior to the end of the season. Look for the 29-year-old, who owns a career .215/.282/.285 triple-slash across parts of six major-league seasons, to serve as an organizational depth piece for the Tigers in 2018.

The Rangers released Kozma on Sunday, Stefan Stevenson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
EDGE Analysis
Texas recently added two versatile infielders via waiver claims in Phil Gosselin and Tyler Smith, and with Jurickson Profar also lingering at Triple-A Round Rock, Kozma was likely no better than fourth in the organizational pecking order for a utility role with the big club. As such, the Rangers decided to part ways with the 29-year-old, who had gone 5-for-45 (.111 average) in the majors this season before he was outrighted to Round Rock on July 23.

Kozma cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Round Rock.
EDGE Analysis
Kozma was designated for assignment just a few days ago, but his lack of hitting at the big-league level deterred the other clubs in the league from plucking him off waivers. He'll remain in the Rangers organization as an organizational depth piece moving forward.

Kozma was designated for assignment by the Rangers on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Kozma was just 4-for-36 with 18 strikeouts at the plate since coming to the Rangers in late April. The infielder was cast off by the club due to the return of Keone Kela (shoulder) from the disabled list prior to Thursday's contest with Baltimore. Although Kozma's versatility was an immense positive during his time in Texas, his lack of hitting eventually became too much of a burden.

Kozma went 1-for-4 with three strikeouts in Tuesday's 11-4 loss to the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Kozma picked up his second start in three games with manager jeff Banister choosing to rest several key lefty hitters with southpaw David Price on the hill for the opposition. The 29-year-old did little Tuesday to stake a claim to a larger role and is batting just .119 while striking out in 19 of his 48 plate appearances (39.6 percent) this season. He remains on the roster for no other reason than his sound glove and ability to play multiple infield spots.

Kozma is hitting .158 in 23 plate appearances since being claimed off waivers by the Rangers in late April.
EDGE Analysis
The long-time Cardinal is serving in a utility role this season, playing anywhere along the infield besides first. He's only been given a starting nod four times with the Rangers, and the lack of consistent playing time has taken it's toll on the 29-year-old. He's struck out 10 times in a Texas uniform, doubling the amount of times he's got on base. Between the poor numbers and the lack of playing time, any fantasy value Kozma retains this season is minimal at best.

Kozma went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
With Joey Gallo receiving the night off for rest, Kozma made just his second start with the Rangers since being claimed off waivers in late April. Kozma certainly performed a decent Gallo impression in slugging his first homer since 2013, but his main value to the Rangers comes in the form of his defensive versatility rather than his bat. So long as health permits for Gallo and the rest of the regulars in the Rangers infield, Kozma is unlikely to see consistent at-bats at any point this season.

Kozma was claimed off waivers by the Rangers on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
The Yankees had no room for Kozma on the 40-man roster after activating Didi Gregorius from the disabled list earlier in the weekend, but the Rangers determined the veteran utility man could offer the team some quality infield depth while Hanser Alberto (shoulder) and Adrian Beltre (calf) remain sidelined. Kozma isn't expected to see regular at-bats with the Rangers and will just act as insurance at second base, third base and shortstop.

Kozma was designated for assignment by the Yankees on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
New York's move to DFA Kozma was a result of the team needing a roster spot for Didi Gregorious, who is returning from the 10-day disabled list. The 29-year-old has gotten off to an unimpressive start to this season, as he has mustered just one hit in 10 plate appearances thus far.

Kozma is in the starting lineup for the first time this season Wednesday, batting ninth and starting at shortstop.
EDGE Analysis
With lineup-regular Ronald Torreyes taking the day off, Kozma finally gets his shot at the action. The veteran shortstop made the roster as a replacement for the injured Didi Gregorius (shoulder), but has received just one at-bat thus far. He'll need to prove his worth if he hopes to avoid a demotion to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, where he batted a miserable .209/.268/.265 over 130 games last season.
