Alvarez is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Nationals, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
After two games against the Nationals in Baltimore, the Orioles head to Washington for two games in a National League park and thus lose the DH spot Wednesday and Thursday. Alvarez will sit for the first game and could be held out again until the team returns to an AL stadium Friday against the Yankees.

Alvarez is out of the lineup Sunday against the Astros, Jon Meoli of the Baltimore Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
With lefty Dallas Keuchel on the hill for the opposing Astros, Alvarez will sit in favor of Mark Trumbo at the DH spot. Alvarez hasn't started against a left-hander since July 30.

Alvarez is out of the lineup Sunday against the Giants, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Since the series is in San Francisco, the Orioles haven't had the DH spot available all weekend, so it's unsurprising that Alvarez has served in a bench role for all three games. Look for him to get back into the lineup as soon as Tuesday against the Red Sox.

Alvarez is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
With the Orioles playing in an NL park this weekend, they'll have to make do without the luxury of a DH. Alvarez is the odd man out Friday, and his lack of viability as a defender could prevent him from starting any game this weekend. He'll likely get a few at-bats as a pinch hitter during the interleague series, however.

Alvarez is not in Wednesday's lineup against Oakland, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Alvarez will get the day off after three consecutive starts, with the Orioles deploying a right-handed heavy lineup against southpaw Ross Detwiler. Matt Wieters will occupy the DH spot in his absence, the first time he mans the position this season, while batting seventh.

Alvarez is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the White Sox, according to Eduardo Encina of The Baltimore Sun.
EDGE Analysis
Alvarez socked two home runs Friday and has five long balls in three games this month, but he will be held out Saturday with the Orioles loading up on right-handed hitters against White Sox lefty Carlos Rodon. Mark Trumbo will serve as the Orioles' designated hitter Saturday.

Alvarez went 2-for-5 with two solo shots in Friday's victory over the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Alvarez now has five homers in his last three games. He homered twice against the Rangers on Tuesday and once Thursday, before upping his total to 18 on Friday. The 29-year-old has three multi-homer games this season in his first go-round with Baltimore. Although Alvarez hasn't received as much playing time as he did in Pittsburgh, he's been much more productive in his at-bats. The DH is posting career-high marks in batting average (.259), slugging percentage (.517), OPS (.832) and ISO (.258). Per at-bat, Alvarez is one of the best power hitters in the game.

Alvarez went 3-for-4 with his 16th homer in Thursday's loss to the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
He and Mark Trumbo went back-to-back in the fifth with the O's trying to claw their way back from a 4-0 deficit, but the comeback attempt fell short. After a slow first two months, Alvarez has been absolutely on fire since the first day of June. Over his last 36 games, Alvarez has gone 40-for-129 (.311) with 13 homers and 25 RBI. Yeah, he's still striking out a lot and not walking much, but he's had great success when making contact; as a result, the two-time 30-homer man is currently sitting on his highest career batting average (.259) and OPS (.832).

Alvarez is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Alvarez will take the night off while Mark Trumbo takes over the DH role and Steve Pearce slides into right field. The 29-year-old has been hot as of late, going 8-for-19 with three home runs, four RBI and four runs scored over the last five games.

Alvarez went 2-for-3 with a pair of solo homers off Rangers starter Yu Darvish in Tuesday's win.
EDGE Analysis
Alvarez has found his power stroke after an excruciatingly slow start, with 12 of his 15 homers coming since the start of June. The recent surge has propelled the former pirate's slugging percentage up to career high .500, thanks almost entirely to his success against right-handers like Darvish.
